I'm a long time smoker, but seriously lack a green thumb. Is there some sort of all-knowing book I should run out and buy? I need to know everything from good locations to identifying different strains to identifying female and male plants (!)

Seriously, I know nothing about growing plants. Where should I start? Thanks in advance for the help...

Anything by Ed Rosenthal is good.
There are also lots of sites that have grow guide's, inc. pix.
    Here's a good one: hempcultivation[dot]com.

First thing you have to deciede is if you want to grow inside or out.
Don't grow inside unless the rent-payer/parents knows about it.
In the great outdoors is my fave.

    #1 rule: TELL NO ONE.

Yeah outdoors is the best IMO...

But I've never grown my own indoors...just seen others...anywho...you live in Orlando, I live in tampa...I've still had successful grows outdoors at this time of the year

It may be a too cold now, but by all means Feb. you can start planting again here haha

Thanks for the help, guys. I've got something to look for now...

I'm not planning on starting any time soon, not until I get my own house (18 & living w/ parent :( ) but I have something to go on.

Well, I still reccomend planting otuside in a park, or the woods of some sort

If you're going to plant in the woods, I would try and get a table out there (sounds hard to sneak...but is surprisingly easy) and choose a spot you can visit when neeeded...the advantages are, unless you get caught actually going there, you can't get blamed for it...only get it chopped

Also, it's the ease of the grow, much easier outdoors IMO...Also, this will give you plenty of time to find seeds...try and find brown seeds that look almost marbalized in your weed...they shouldn't be VERY brown, but they also shouldn't be white or green...just look for a greyish brown, they tend to work the best...try and collect as many as you can until then and keep it in a film cannister with some rice in a cool dry place until planting time...make sure you get some nice soil and you'll be good to go from there

-Don't plant in a park, they'll be found.

-You certainly don't need a table in the woods.
You need to use at least 10-gal. planters or dig holes 3' wide by 3' deep and amend with quality potting soil.
And make sure they get water at least 2x/week.

Properly grown, a marijuana plant will grow 7'--12' tall and yield over 1 pound of buds.
