its about a woman and her relationship with her dog. she runs a yoga studio for dogs and their guardians.
ive not seen that show but i have seen the yoga for dogs w/ their caretakers. i dunno about that one....the dogs looked quite annoyed with the situation. i dont think my dog would put up with me trying to take them to yoga class but im sure some dogs love it. i bet their bodies feel better afterward........or not
Yes I have seen the show before. And fortunately I live in NYC, and I went to two of Kari's doga classes at her yoga center. It wasn't crowded at all, only about 4 people per class, and it was a lot of fun. My dog loved it! Charlie didn't really like my dog Jelly Bean though, he growled at her. But Kari is a very nice person.
why do we want to make our pets "human" and learn to do be/look like humans, it's so stupid, it's just my opinion, sorry..... I've had cats dogs ponys horses, a gazelle 2 goats, and all enjoy being what they are good at. (dogs of course are a bit of an exceptionm they are more the servant-like animals. i mean where do u see a police cat?) I feel sorry for theanimals , sorry to say that....
some things that are classified as "human" are actually very beneficial for dogs.....such as sweaters and snoe shoes in the winter time to keep them warm and their paws from cracking. a deep tissue massage (they actually have massuses for dogs) is good for their muscles. i imagine that yoga *can* be good for them as well, however i know exactly what you mean. what is done for dogs and to dogs should always ALWAYS be in the best interest of the dog and dressing dogs up everyday in cute outfits or carrying them around in a dog "purse" like an accessory are things that are done for the humans interest (not in every case but take a look at paris hilton). its quite insane. however ive never seen any of these type of things done with any other animal besides a dog. ive never seen anyone dress up their horse or take their cat to yoga. probably because these types of animals wouldnt stand for it and certainly couldnt be adaptive to it like dogs.
yeah, you are right actually, dogs are a bit of an exception, really!.... But, i guess, they can the most helpful. They do have a bit of a slavish mentality, but in the right hand, can be the best friend and protector.
mmmm...i wouldnt call it a slave mentality really. i think dogs are pure love and because they love us so much they are eager to please us. still i dont make my dogs do anything they dont want to do. we like to please the ones we love. ive also heard it called "captive syndrom" (or something like that) just like when someone has kidnapped someone and is holding them hostage...the hostage will sometimes become submissive in order to keep the peace and gain more freedom from their kidnappers. you know, dogs want to get walked, they want to get fed...who knows.....i cant explain it as well as the guy who origionally was talking about it. maybe thats the same as slave mentality actually~
