1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

You could also subscribe to the forums and get an upgrade to Supporter or Lifetime Supporter here

I walk past dirty little sidestreets
Pretentious signs for new and exciting clubs
    Pop up periodically
Things here are in sing song happiness
Warbled tunes of merry making crackle
    Through ancient speakers
Everyone's so glad it's come to the time
When they may lavish their love upon all
The time of year to straighten up
    And quit being a shit
To be exploited by money munching corporations
And tra la la their way right into debt

But is it all worth it in the end
Why do we need regimented reminders
To spend quality time with our families
To gobble it all down under the blanket of excess
    Then wait for dreary January
And fall so fast into an empty void
We wonder in misery what for?
    Until next November
When circumstantial amnesia makes us ignorant
    To our own self disgust

my personal favorite part of the poem. you get your message across clearly, sometimes people like to drown their work in such extreme subtlety that it loses its meaning. you did not do this, good job!
