    Help me pl-e-e-e-a-a-se!
I'm trying to find out what is 'the best' alternative, ecological 'house' on the market today. I am getting huge head-ache. Is my question even proper?
I'm curious what's the best alternative, Earth/Human friendly house plan available. I realize I can/should create my own in order to maximize creativity and responsiveness to immeadiate (sp?) environment etc.
but a template would be handy....
    :)

There is no template. Eco-friendliness requires that the house fit in with the local environment. Your requirements (Texas, right?) are far different than a Minnesotan's. Local eco groups should have local contacts. Try asking at the hardware store, they may know contractors, who know someone, who knows...

    Good Luck!

I think underground is the way to go, and concrete, something that may last several hundred years.
