vaisnavas follow ekadasi (a twice monthly fast from grains and beans), it was yesterday. its a day dedicated to increasing spiritual activities n minimizing physical activities. its a very lovely story, its long tho, and im tired, maybe ill post it later.... basically, it has to do with god being merciful and giving shelter EVEN to sin... more to follow
