Languages? Got go with English there. Accent? British, the John Cleese type dialect, not that corney cockney stuff. Culture? I've always liked the French culture.
i drink tea w/ hot milk and a bit of honey if i want it sweet. my grams told me that was a terrible crime against an innocent leaf...
that's kinda awful for me to ponder, since my dad wears his kilt frequently and is the only man i know to do so...
Anyone who says British is more correct since it's closer to the origin of the language... does that mean chimps are the most elloquent speakers on earth? It's probably what are ancestors spoke like. Please note, I didn't call all british people chimps... directly.
What do you care? English isn't an official American language.....you don't have one (and the native american language is about dead) i dunno why the americans cling on to English....more americans use spanish than english these days
lol...lucky i have no British blood in me or i might take offence at that... I actually don't believe one is more correct than the other....its just a matter of preference and the language divide is lessening as English becomes more and more a universal language.... there is still a huge cultural difference though... take television...the Brits dont glamourise life...in fact we do the opposite... Eastenders...Coronation street....Emerdale and many more British soaps deal with the poor and underpriveledged in society.... giving the rest of the world an unrepresentative view of life in the UK....for most of us...life just isnt like that....
Thats not true or anything. about 28 million spanish speakers, many of who are bilingual vs 280 million engish speakers. Hey, that means we have more english speakers in America then you do in England. We had a vote, American english won.
Nah, me either, just some regional differences like you said. I'm just joking with my british friends. I mean, just joking with my british friends, gov'nor.
What? in the whole of america? i'm talking about the continent, not the United states (like English is the official longuage of the UK, not just England) ... surprises me that Won wot? is English now yer official language?
America generally refers to the US, and Americas refers *almost* all of the western hemisphere. At least in the US, and like I've said, more of us, we call the shots. And yeah, its ours now. If you wanna help make some decisons you brits better start making some babies.
