yeah I know where your coming from, and I do like cypress, the only complaint I have is that there content doesnt change very much from one song to hte next, within those songs B-real is definitly a great emcee.

on to eminem, and I hate to defend him, because as an old underground fan of his I hate his new shit... but im going to first of all tell you not to listen to anything hes released after 2001. But I must admit I did like the Slim Shady LP and I loved his underground shit with rawkus ... also infinite was an OK album. song like low down dirty, just dont give a fuck (the original version has a cool beat from les miserables or however its spelt) still dont give a fuck, rock bottom.... I was really feelin that LP.

I have no respect for 50 cent and no respect for anyone really on that g unit label, although I havent heard any new mobb deep songs.

Slim Shady LP was definitely Em's shining moment; "My Name Is" being Marshall's breathrough track, and to go on with "Mushrooms," "Guilty Conscious," "Brain Damage," and "Don't Give a Fuck", it is most definitely a classic "pop rap" disc. I much prefer his older shit, notably with D12, like "Shit On You".

Anything later was nothing worthy of listening to, aside from the occasional single. With his film career, "8 Mile," "Bulletproof," and the Tupac biography, I honestly couldn't take Marshall anymore seriously than I would, say, Jennifer Lopez.

Now that I think of it, I'm surprised you didn't mention Immortal Technique or JS-1 in your earlier post...not that Immortal really tantalizes my tastes...

you definately have to give Eminem credit for actually making it in a black mans buissiness. Personally i think hes a great rapper, aside from "real slim shady" "without me" and silly junk like that. Dr. Dre is definately an excellent producer and rapper. you gotta love NWA. Snoop is a great rapper, though his really modern stuff is...questionable. 50 cent is a joker cashing in on some healed bullet wounds, making himself out to be a thug and a pimp in his songs ("...I'm a warriuuhh....a warriuh." and "I'm a motherf***ing PIMP".

^^ dre is a good producer but one of the worst rappers ive ever heard... he does have some catchy lines but jay-z and eminem write 99% of his lyrics.

Well Gunit used to be underground, and they are realn all, the g unot thing was said by the game, who by everybodys information did not have any tattoos and did not wear red bandanas to represent when he first met G unit.

i finally got around to seeing it last week chuck, and ive got to say despite the disgustingly long shower scene(there shouldnt have been one period) it was an OK movie....not quite 8 mile but i think thats just cuz em is a better actor then 50. the story of it was really good, if it were someone like dr dre or maybe even young buck it would have been better.

wow i could tell you so many stories about everybody in rap like Baby from Cash Money Recrords.....Baby had to make some money for the studio to make some raps and such so all of Cash Money Records sold drugs ran the streets and all that shit took a while untill they had a few houndred G's in there pockets and got a studio to record himself, and Many Fresh then sold them to the radio and they became a hit all over the world in just a couple years....the moral of the story is, it takes money to make money.

P.S. i'm more into underground rap than mainstream hip-hop, so i fuckin hate 50 and g-unit, they can't rap for shit, i admit i liked a couple of his songs like In da Club and P.I.M.P. and I Love Niggas but thats it....and now that he got bigger and bigger it just makes me sick that people are falling all over g-unit just because they are on he radio...you need to listen to some underground rap and then you will understand and have respect for the true rap
