Well, the other day, my boyfriend and I woke up to this horrible barking and yelping. We have to dogs in the back yard - Regis, which is a terrier and Kathy which is a mutt ( maybe lab, rottweiler somthing mix). Anyway, Regis and Kathy were going crazy. So I went outside to see what was wrong and my boyfriend's mom told me that there was a puppy under our car. We put food under the car to try to coax the puppy out. Anyway, I slid myself half way under the car and layed my head on the tire so that I could reach the puppy. I pet him and fed him. Later that day, I went to check on him and he was in the front yard ( we live in the country). Anyway, so I have taken this new puppy in. My boyfriend and I named him Bear. He looks like he might be a labrador mix. I'm not too sure. Anyway, I am feeding him breakfast, a milkbone snack, and dinner. I haven't had to take care of a puppy before all on my own, so any tips would be appreciated.

well it sounds like you are from america so i would first take him to a vet to get him checked. Then they vet can tell you the age (well near enough) the breed, etc.

I think you need to find out these things before you decide on what to feed him, if he gets the shits feed rice and chicken or easy to digest food. good luck

You might want to get a book on raising puppies as well...I got some stuff at Petsmart before getting my pup, and the info. was very helpful. And, yes, you may want to take him to a vet to get him checked out...make sure he is healthy, doesn't have heartworm, etc... Good luck with your new puppy!

Well, yesterday I took Bear to get his rabies and d-h-p-p shots. He got de-wormed too. He is doing great...he is really a great pup. The woman was laughing about how big he was and he is only 3 months old. He is what I thought he was, a retriever/chow mix.

It's nice when animals find you. They make the best pets. But really, I'm posting to tell you how much I like your other dogs names - Kathy and Regis - Hahahahaha!

Too bad it wasn't a female puppy. You could have named her Kelly! LOL
