ok, i have a question..... in eight states, those convicted of a felony lose the right to vote--forever. shouldex-felons be able to cast ballots after theyr freed?

what do u think, give some points.
and if ur a felon, just please dont say they should.

absolutely. If they're out of jail, and off parole, they have paid their debt to society and should be returned all their rights. This is a simple thing, obvious really.

The USA is the only Western country that revokes a citizen's voting rights forever (that I know of). Land of the free my ass...

i dont know maybe it should depend on the crime... if a person rapes, kills,or comites very serious hate crime ect do you think they should vote after they have got out of jail

i think they should definitely be able to vote because they're still living here, and the government still affects them, so they are entitled to a vote, no matter how "wrong" we consider them. not everyone has the same morals, and who's to say that something we, as a country, consider immoral is a universal wrong?

It's fucking stupid, they complain about the fact that there aren't enough people voting, then they rovoke someone's right to vote. It's bass ackwards.

Of course. If he's out of jail, then as far as the government is concerned he's clearly paid his debt to society. Why don't they let him back INTO society?
