If he didn't come up with the Microsoft idea then who did. Whose original idea was it to come up with a GUI based OS? IBM?
yep on teh xerox..... the last time he coded anything it was an optimized build of 8088 basic with his 4 buddies...... he is just involved in suggesting features, guiding the companies doctrine and fucking small software developers as well as something like 96% of computer users...... with his microsoft....

Bill Gates never invented anything, and neither did Microsoft. He is not, never was, and never claimed to be a programmer. But he is a genious in his field: business. He managed to create a company and make it the absolute leader of the software world without ever making a product superior to the competition.
Well, here's what helps. 1) Being born ridiculously rich 2) Having your mom be really good friends with the decision makers at IBM, who wrote you a SWEET deal licencing the software you bought for chump change off a small Seattle company. Over lunch at the country club, they decided to let you keep the rights but pay you a fee per motherboard. 3) Having the good luck to see clone PCs go through the roof - and because you're the de facto standard, you can leverage a $10 per motherboard licencing fee, off which you got obscenely wealthy (yet again it helps that mom and dad lunch with the barons of industry) 4) Act in a scruple-less, mercenary way and consolidate a large enough monopoly to basically tell entire countries to bite your fat geek ass. Smart isn't a word I'd use. Weaselish, cunning, unscrupulous, yes. Smart, no.
Oh, and I might add - if a motherboard didn't pay the tax to you, you'd simply change the software to not run on that particular company's hardware.
That wasn't directed at you but those who think that billg@microsoft.com actually developed all the software.
Standardised tests only indicate one's aptitude for taking tests dear boy, they are no credible guage of intelligence.
Would everyone here who is sneering at Gates but didn't buy Microsoft shares when they were at $1 please shut the hell up.
