I just saw the WORST anti-drug ad... not about pot, but I'd figure you guys would appreciate this the most. After all, these are the same people with all of the anti-drug ads about everything. So it shows this container full of goldfish, then starts draining it, until there is almost NO water left, then says that sniffing stuff deprives your brain of the oxygen it needs. They didn't need to torture goldfish to prove their lame point! I'm sorry, but even if someone willingly does that to their brain (I'm not familiar with the effects of sniffing stuff, so I don't know what it even really does), is NOT going to listen to that! No one does! Usually I'd be laughing about stuff like that, but I don't think it's funny at all when they get animals involved. They didn't ask to be deprived of oxygen! This ad is a lot similar to the one about asthma, with a few differences to make this one much worse: there were a BUNCH of goldfish all crammed together, and it didn't even look like there was a little water by the end of the ad, unlike the other. Anyway, I think that this is when some of us really need to start calling the anti-drug people on their lies and guilt-tripping. It's already been started, I know, but I'm definitely going to complain. Wow, I sound like an old incensed lady... guess I am, sort of, but not old. Just really mad about unneccesary animal torture on tv. Any thoughts? ~Nova
Are you sure it was real goldfish? And if it is, then that is just entirely fucked up and shows that they have so few arguements that they have to make it seem like we're the murderers because of our lifestyles (Despite most of us on here probably not sniffing stuff) But yeah, that's seriously fucked up. My dad is a charter captain and I understand his catching of fish and such, he does it because it's a way of life for him, he eats the fish and appreciates their culture even haha...he goes to ever "wildlife protection" meeting that involves fish etc etc and even has been involved in some movements to bring back certain types of fish (Breeding them outside the ocean, then moving them in etc etc)
Last I heard it was illegal to involve animals in movies, shows, etc. that could be potentially harmful to the animal.
i saw that shit...there was just 1 gold fish and te water keep getting smaller and smaller and there was barly enought left and it showed a close up of the fish's mouth and whole body gasping for air...god they are fuckin retarded, i mean what does that show? that they have the power to torcher a gold fish?
lol it's a fucking gold fish... i've drank live goldfish in martini's before...no biggie to be honest, if they had a comercial where there was a guy and he was like "this is your brain on drugs" and shot a dog...i would do nothing but laugh.. i cant belive u are on the internet, yet think killing a brainless gold fish is harsh? lol!
it sounds funny if it was for anything else, but it seems gay for a bunch of people who are supposed to be preaching morals to us to do it. like telling us not to steal and then raping someone.
On cannabis.com there was a discussion about putting a goldfish inside a bong, and then toking to see if the fish would react. In the end everyone decided it was a really funny idea, but to do it for real was just nasty. Yeah, it's not like goldfish are the most sentient animals around, but it's still a living thing, why torture it to make a point (like the anti-drug) or for fun (bonging)?
