This past weekend, I bought some polymer clay to play with. Relatively new to the medium, but thought it looked fun. With Christmas coming, I thought i would make some polymer clay covered tins for some of my friends. One of them is a dragon FREAK. This is still unbaked, or fired... as it still has to be put on the tin. But thought i would take a pic of it while it was still flat. Hard to take pics of things once they are wrapped around corners and such! Am going to go back into it once it's baked and apply scales and such over the red body. Want to get what is done harded before I put my hand down in it and flatten it all the hell.. haha.
Thanks Everyone! The tin i am putting it one it long and skinny, with a lid. I've already covered the tin and lid with gold clay. The lid has the Chinese characther for Happiness on it. I think it will be pretty cool when done too!
Baked the dragon on the tin.. but still have some tweaking to do with the lid (BJ the cat sat on it before it was baked... haha.. kitty-butt hair in the clay.. haha)
Whats life without kitty hair in it eh? lol I certainly wouldn't know. Glad you posted a pic of it put together, I was hoping you would.
Forgot to answer your question! So sorry! Just used normal basic Fimo. The red and the gold had sparkles in the clay but the other colours were normal matte. I started off with red, yellow, green, white, gold and black... made the light green and the orange using basic colour therory (red plus yellow makes orange, and so on). Cat hair is a major lifestyle choice, eh? Always afraid PETA is going to attack me for wearing a fur coat, but it's just Residual Cat Love..... or RCL as we call it. haha.
great job hun! it looks amazing! sucks that the top was er "embellished" by the cat though. he he he. i have the same prob with our cats.......they always want to "help" lol
lol... damned cats... lol. He is usually so careful of things i am working on. Like, he avoids wet paint, open paints and anything else that i might have on my table. Guess he just didn't realize that it was wet. It was quite funny though.. haha.
that looks awsome I've always wanted to try polymer clay since i first herd about it. Cat hair big plus and funny too lol. Good thing my 2puppies are too small to reach on my table or Id be missing few beads. holla.
