I love the whole excitement and just the atmospehere, and dancin and i dont know just everything! so i just wanted to share good/bad concert experiences with other like minded concert junkkies, or people who dont like concerts at all. So yeah, lets just talk about concerts!!! hehe im a weirdo....... haha (PS shirley manson kicks ass!)
I love concerts!! I'm always checking to see whats being announced etc every day, so I don't miss out on some good ones!! I managed to score second row Eric Clapton tickets the other week!!
haha come on now be nice garbage kick ass. theyre a good band, been around 4 ages. i love em. And i know what you mean Ellie Rose, im always on the lookout 4 someone comin 2 town lol. Im in Adelaide and not many bands come here so i gotta go to Sydney to see Greenday. But its like a drug and u walk out of the concert and u just wanna do it all again! Hehe xxx keep them posts comin ciao guys xxx ash
hell yea... live music is a great drug... im goin to shows all the time... at least a couple times a month... its nice that where i live has a nice local music scene its great.... it usually takes me a day or two to come back down from the shows too... next day i'll still be dancin around at work and everywhere for no reason other than still having the show stuck in my head from the night before
wait till you go see a jamband. and the wait a little bit longer, till you start seeing that jambad all the time, and it feels like its a different band/concert each time...thats what its about
Woo i remember my first jamband concert phish in raleigh. wasn't even under the influence of anything and it still blew my mind
i usually see at least 3 shows a month. this month was 4. (The Australian Pink Floyd, The Pink Floyd Experience, and two nights of Phil Lesh)
Would go see more concerts, but they're too damn expensive...go see local bands when I can (since they're free), but I see Tool everytime they hit NC. Ozzfest used to rock, and would probably go, but now that Ozzy's kid started choosing the band line-up I can't even bare reading the invitee list. Garbage is alright, much better than, say...Shakira.
my first conert was blue oyster clut which was ok,next was BB king i was blown away i saw him twice and plan on going for a third casue his concerts are sooo amazing i saw les claypool with FFFb and hella which was good hella would have been better if the people there werent such asshole, but les was amazing he played whamola and i started dancing like crazy, you can feel the energy if the artist(s) are putting there all into it and how the people around you are acting people where booing when hella was playing which pissed me casue i love them and they did an amazing job, there guitarist played his guitar like a stand up bass him kneeling just freaking out on it by the end of the set it was awesome, then some kids yelled you suck and the mood droped.one of the best solos ive ever heard
I've seen Alanis Morissette this year, which was the biggest single show I've ever been to. My first show was Iced Earth, four years ago, still among the best if not the best concert I've ever been to. I've also seen Dimmu Borgir, who were blown away by their support band Hypocrisy in quality and presentation, My Dying Bride (the concert I was at has been released on DVD ), God Dethroned, Behemoth, Destroyer 666 and Diabolic, local bands, a metal festival in Germany (Sentenced and Dark Fortress being the most memorable band there), X-mass metal fest with Vader, Marduk and Dark Funeral (still not a big fan of DF), hm... I've seen my friend's black metal band Saeculum three times now, and I guess that's it... I'm exceptionally poor so I can't go to all shows I'd like.
@local: Are you referring to the metal scene or the country/bluegrass scene? @hailtothekingbaby: Dark Funeral did a really good cover on the Slayer Gateway to Hell cover album..."Dead Skin Mask" I believe it was? I don't listen to any of their original stuff, though. If you like My Dying Bride, you should definitely check out Forest of Shadows; anything from the Where Dreams Turn to Dust EP, "Wish" being my favorite.
@LSD: yeah, that's a great album. The flute intro of the first song (was it 'Of sorrow blue'?) is beautiful, and overall it's very good as well. Also try The Prophecy, Swallow the Sun, Mourning Beloveth and Novembers Doom!
Ah yes, heard Swallow the Sun for the first time last week. Really good band, can't wait to see how the progress in later albums. November's Doom is pretty good as well, though I don't dig on their sound much...
I know they have a different atmosphere than most other MDB-inspired bands, but they're brilliant all the same, especially 'To welcome the fade'. I forgot to state I saw Autumn, Holland's best gothic metal band.
I've seen GWAR, Poison The Well, Every Time I Die, MAdball, Clutch, Strapping Young Lad, nd a few other bands, but that was all at one show. I saw System Of A Down in September, and I'm supposed to go see From First To Last, He Is Legend, Haste The Day, and Dead REckless december 20th, but if that doesn't work out, then I can always get tickets to Armor For Sleep, Chiodos, Boys Night Out, and Action Reaction.
