nope, you should go through a full set of pills (one month) before they become fully effective. They're mostly effective after two weeks (around 80% I believe) but using condoms until the next pack is a good idea

remember, pill doesn't work against STD's. I'm sure you knwo that, but it's good to reinforce it

its going to take a bit for the pills to work and fully make its way throughout your body. and the pills aren't 100% effective so just make sure your careful ;)

When my wife went on the pill, we continued to use other birth control for another month. Things may have changed since then, but the info packet you got with the pills should include instructions on this point. Or you could call the pharmacy or Planned Parenthood or your own doctor.

My dr told me it would b safe 2 not use condoms (my bf and i were both tested for STD's before hand) 2 weeks into the first pack, but we used condoms til the next pack anyway, just to be sure. i would strongly suggest u dont stop using condoms straight away, coz ur not protected that much at all. as sunshine'sbutterfly said, it takes a while to work into your system. Good luck, be safe!

I dont know if perhaps your bc pills are different, but with mine, to start I take them on the sunday after my period ends. Even though its a bit of a risk, I started having sex right away and was fine...I was told waitiing about a week was appropriate, by a doctor.

every brith control i have tried...and ive tired plenty, come with the warning from the doctor that you need to use something else for the entire first month, and I have known my fair share of girls who didnt listen and found out they were pregnant after a month or two of pills so use condoms the first MONTH...not two weeks then you should be fine

technically one should be protected from the start, according to what the intructions on my pills say, but the nurse told me I should use condoms until i finish the first pack. I wouldn't risk it, it's best to play it safe and go with both.
