my neighbors got a rottie puppy 5 months ago. they have not trained it or taken him to a vet ect. TODAY they come over and tell me that there moving and wondered if I wanted to take the dog. I said of coarse!!!! But I will get him tommorow, I just can't belive that they got a rottie paid 500.00 for him and now that he is not tiny and cute they are abandoning him. Folks like that aren't cool at all. Just had to vent

If you think that's "asshole", we got our cats from a cattery. Both of them had been abused. One of them was placed in a box on the side of the road with her mother and sister. It started to rain, and the got soaked. They tried to leave the box and got attacked by a dog. The mother died, and both kittens suffered illnesses later in life. Our kitten died last year. Our other cat was unwanted, placed in a sack, and thrown into a river. He's lucky that all he suffered from was a leaky eye...

That's so sad. It's unbelievable that people can be so cruel.

Have fun with your 'new' pup, I'm sure he will thrive in a loving home.

Some people seem to feel that animals aren't living things...that need love, care, that feel pain, loneliness, etc...makes me mad too...

Good for you, Weepingoak, for taking the rottie...glad the pup found someone who wanted him... :)

it is worse then I thought, went to get him and the have just up and moved away left him locked in the house so I knew they had broken a window in the kitchen so I went to the store and bought a bag of dog food and put 3 slices in it and tossed it in the middle of the kitchen, the neighbors told me they had the key and if they did not come back today I could go in a water him and pick up the poo. and if by monday their not back to take him.

HOW do I always end up in the middle of things like this?

i'd call the police and let them know youre going to break the window and get the dog out.... dont leave the poor dog another second on its own.... they dont deserve it and it needs rescueing urgently...

I've just got a great dane cross from a rescue centre...well 6 weeks ago now... Kobi is a 1yr old pup that was abandoned with her sister at just a few months old....when i got her from the rescue centre she was still so skinny and scared of everything that moved.... now shes just amazing and the most wonderful dog ever.... good on you for taking this dog on....but can you imagine what its going through just abandoned with no human contact...it must be so confused and scared.... here in the UK the police would have broken in and taken it already....

what i hate about pet owners, is when some people first get pets (dogs especially) and of coarse the puppy is going to be rowdy..like come on, its not even a friggen year old man!...and just because the owners want a cute little 'perfect' puppy, they abonden them on the street or whatever.
This nearly happened when we frist got our dog. He dug holes and stuff, and my dad used to freakin swear and shit and kick him around. whenever my dad would come near him, he would run into my room cause i was the only one who sincerlly cared about him.

This is what the world is coming to...when a family memeber becomes a slight inconvinience, they are kicked out!

he is great for me, I have taken him out with my dog everyweek and when he was a little puppy I took him all of the time. so while they had him he never layed down or sat or did anything. with me My 4 year old neice told him to lay down and he drop to the ground so fast. it is remembering to give him treats for laying down and chilling out!
My friend and his wife have him now and he lives on a fenced in 20 acre peice of land with a lake and a family. Life will be good for brother dog. I am happy

aw man, i hate that so much.

i adopted my dog lily from the shelter and after we had her for a few days we realized what a terror she is! she chews EVERYTHING and never settles down. she is constantly running around like a crazy dog getting into everything and using the bathroom in the house. im thinking that might be the reason she ended up at the shelter in the first place...b/c some asshole couldnt deal with her antics....well she is puppy afterall! not to mention she is in the terrier group.......
so im glad ive found her. i can only imagine if she had gone to a home that believed in punishment.....spankings, etc. here she is allowed to be herself.

Puppies can be intense...a person has t0 know, at least to some degree, what they are getting into!! My shih tzu was a terror too as a puppy (and shih tzu's aren't known for being that crazy, at least I don't think so!), but I worked with her, and loved her to pieces, and she has come around a lot. She is a yr. and half now, and, while not a perfect angel by any stretch (and I would worry about her if she was!), she is much calmer than she was a yr. ago. I'm so glad you took care of that puppy, Weepingoak...good karma for you!!!

thank you. I felt a great deal of stress through all of this. It was extremely hard on my emotional system as I have seen the animal suffer then they would take care of him better then it would just get so much worse. When if finally came down to the point where the dog was abandoned. I wish I had never let the situation get that bad, I feel alot of guilt because I let it get to a point where he was left alone. Sus thank you for saying it is good Karma.
