God i remember The Twits, funny book. There was one called The Enemies, about twin sisters as well. I volunteer at a primary school and saw so many books i knew years before. I find it funny reading them now but it's nice.

"The Littles"... it was a series about this family of little people, kind of like that other book they made a movie out of, but so much better!

Narnia -Only when I grew up and realised the Christian allegories woven into the storyline did I like it less (though I still read it yearly!)

Susan Cooper - Dark Is Rising series. Based on Arthurian legend and definitely highly recommended.

LeGuin - First Earthsea Trilogy. A series I recommend to every gal I date :). If she likes it then we have a basis for a relationship! :).

Since then, I'd throw in the Eddings Belgariad/Malloreon series as well as Jonathan Stroud's Bartimaeus trilogy. I'd also somewhat reluctantly throw in Potter though I think it's becoming too long winded and aimless in the latter books.

I read mostly books series as a kid. Read a lot of Babysitters Club and American Girl books (I read the Kirsten series) as a kid. I was also a big Goosebumps fan. I liked the My Teacher Is An Alien series and the Wayside School books. I still have many of those books in a bag in my closet. Sometimes when I'm really bored I'll re-read them. Upon re-reading, I understand why I loved American Girl books so much. Why I was so into BSC books, however, is a good question. I mean, I get why I read them, but I don't really understand how they shaped my childhood the way they did... The My Teacher Is An Alien books were actually quite good- especially the My Teacher Glows In The Dark, which is borderline political and has a really good message- and the Wayside School books were very funny.

I loved the Babysitters Club. Had all the books and loved the TV show. The movie was not that great though. It should've had the original actors.
