Thoughts about the new site, not that long time ago...

When did Skip introduce the new site? One year ago, or something like that?

I Think it's quite strange, since I remember that I was very sad, because the new layout was very different from the other, but now I don't even remember how the old site looked like anylonger. It's strange (and maybe scary?) how fast we get used to things. Nowadays I'm feeling fine with everything, but sitting here, it suddenly stroke me that I simply couldn't get used to the new layouts, graphics, and everything the first weeks (but let me notice - I was not the only being hysterical, far as I remember!).
Well, there was a practical problem, though. Suddenly one day we (I) logged on, and I was rejected. I panic'ed because I thought I was kicked out for some reason (because I didn't receive an answer why, which was very frustrating (but understandable, ofcourse)!).

Another small practical thing - in case you drop by, Skip - why can't you seperate the most used smileys from other images in two different categories (understandable that you don't want ppl to post 100 photoes or images in each post) - but just so that people can post more than 4 smileys - at least among the 4-5 most popular smileys?

Look at when you registered. It's right there under your name. May 2004. (Assuming you joined right away, of course. Which I'm pretty sure you did.)

I remember being very frustrated as well. Not only by the new look, but also because of all the discussions that were lost forever. This particular forum (Europe) has a tendency to die out from time to time, but as I remember it, we were at a pretty good place right at that time, and then it all went down... Took some motivation off things. Oh well, as you said, we're all used to it now, and yes, I too have forgotten what the old forums looked like. But that's how it goes I guess. We move on and forget what once was. Just like everything else...

 

Oh, I haven't seen that "join date" before! Typical my ignorance!

I can just agree on the things you say there, brother...
