Is anyone here a fruitarian? I am, and I haven't met anyone so far in my life that is.

i can't say i have ever come across a fruitarian, i am a vegetarian but all i mainly eat is fruit, some days that is all I have but i do have other things every now and again. Is it hard been one and do you have any consequences from been a fruitarian, I apparently will just collapse one day through my diet, but I feel absolutely fine at the moment :)

i'm not frutarian, but as i try to compose my daily diet of at least half raw food, half of that is fruit of course (other half veggies). i think i'll try slowly to increase that 50% on expense of cooked vegs. i allways have impression that too much good stuff is ruined by cooking. maybe 70 raw - 30 cooked, so at least 40% fruits.
i heard before what soaringeagle talk about, that sometimes bust of energy in pure fruitarians is like euphoria combined with positive thinking and you must get used to it.

ecaep, please some more information about your experiences.

I know a lot of fruitarians. My Guru is one, he tried this carefully constructed fruitarian diet and it saved his life. A lot of other people followed his example and took to it and it worked very well for them. My mother was frutarian for over and year and now she has eased up on it a little, but she is still faithful to a lot of the principles of the diet.

i live in a cold climate, so i get a craving for something heavier... But i have heard that fructrians actually make their bodies more calori efficient, that is, they can survive on less... and in the same time get a nice natural high. I have fasted for short periods, well, after I had managed the hard (hunger headeaches withdrawals) I was feeling ...high...

Must be careful with fasting. It can be very good for you, or very bad.

I'm fruititarian. However i don't consider myself one 'cos I eat nuts and seeds but apparently that still means i am one:S

To me that's a bit like saying "oh i'm a non-smoker..I only smoke cigarettes"

frutarian - just eating fruits? i'm wondering if that diet is a bit high in sugar? and what about the essential vitamins veggies provide? and nuts? what do you do for protein?
    just curious.

It's not to high in bad sugar - refined sugar. The sugar in fruit is in the form of monosaccrides, disacchrides, and polysacchrides, which are slow releasing and the best energy source for a variety of reasons.

Any vitamins vegetables supply fruit also has in an abundance, and they taste better!

Fruitarians do eat nuts and seeds, at least many I do, you can get extra protein that way. Or you can just eat fruit! You'll get all you need, so long as you consume enough food (enough to satisfy yourself).

yep i just eat wat falls off trees..society put ideas in our heads about how we need to eat tonnes and tonnes of protein..we don't! if you eat too much you get kidney damage or liver lol sorry! i'm not sure which! also if you eat a variiety of fruits you should get enough nutrients..so don't just eat apples and pears 100%of the time.

I met some sadhus in India, they eat only fruit & nuts, but also take some milk and curd daily aswell. I think that's a good idea as it adds an extra bit of balance to the diet.

    I lasted about a week...
I felt good but it cost to much...
so I swiched to raw instead...
but then i quit that too... it's not easy... I plan on trying again startig next week...
I love the raw diet. I can't eat sweet all the time...
