How have Led Zeppelin influenced you?

I honestly started listening to Led Zeppelin about a year ago...and I know what you're thinking.... "okay this girl's a stupid little teenager"...okay...sure...maybe I am....but I've read so much...watched so many concerts...listened to their music SO MUCH in the past year, that I feel like ive been listening to them forever...its weird...Im obsessed with them...the first Led Zeppelin song that I heard was Stairway to Heaven....I fell in love...I'm still in love with that song...then I started listening to Q107...(a Toronto radio station) and I heard more of their songs...I became more and more interested....I saved up a lot of money and I bought their box set...all the Led Zeppelin albums....I was in heaven...I sat in bed all day on the weekends listening to every single song and learning the lyrics. I had never explored music so much before at all..They became my life..day and night, I would leave a cd playing all night..and in the morning I would be able to wake up to them (which was like waking up and having the whole world in your hands for me). After a while I noticed that on one of my "Best of Led Zeppelin" cds there was this video that you can play on the computer....I put it on and I fell in love with robert plant...with his snug little pants and his little tiny shirt...the hair, the look, the voice...everything....and Page as well...all of them..I fell in love with their IMAGE....Bonham...the grooviest drummer ever..and John Paul, awesomely talented guy...then I watched The Song Remains The Same......and I thought "I NEED to start collecting these things"....and I did....I expanded....it grew...I have over a zillion Led Zeppelin things....Pictures, Posters, printed out pictures of concert tickets...Ticket from the Robert Plant concert that I went to in July, cds, tapes, records....I even drew the Led Zeppelin logo onto my wall....layed out a bunch of pics..and now it's like my shrine.... For sure...this is how I started listening to Led Zeppelin....

Stairway to Heaven got me there...

i became a fan when i was about 17. I listened to IV when i was younger, and right when i was getting into them, someone stole the cassette and i could never get hold of any led zep music again. I knew about them, and black dog and stairway but i never thought i would be so into a band.

Part of my love for led zeppelin is the fact that i have been able to discover other music that i couldnt have known of its existence because of my age, but after becoming a fan, i started appreciating music so much more and actually wanting to play music and be involved in anything related to music.

i could say led zeppelin were at one point a huge part of my life...their music, their story, i wanted to know it all. mind you i still love them and are my number 1 band ever, but currently i seem to have drifted my preferences to other musicians, but strongly influenced by what i love about led zeppelin nonetheless.

oh and john paul jones is the man.

I started listening to them when i was twelve, when i heard kashmir. They are by far one of the best bands in history, They influenced me to start listening to other music like the doors and pink floyd.

ive been a zephead for since i was about 12. John Bonham influenced me and he is the reason i started playing the drums. Also they got me into other music of their generation and got me off of that crap music that's out now and from the 80's and 90's.

i've only been a zeppelin fan for like two years, they're my favorite band (closely followed by the allman brothers band). i started getting into rock n' roll, and i'd never listened to them before. i guess i liked all the bands that were similar to them, so i borrowed my dad's box set and just kind of listened through it. i really liked moby dick and when the levee breaks. i listened to their hits for a month or so, although i never really saw the big deal about stairway to heaven.

then after a while i really got into them, i love how all the elements of their songs just mesh together so perfectly. the first time i heard tangerine i was just racked w/ goosebumps, it's my favorite song.

in short. i love robert plants voice. i love jimmy's acoustic and electric guitaring. i love john bonham's crazy drumming. and well, john paul jones just kind of held the sound together.

    fucking awesome band...

"Hey hey mama like the way u groove....."

I have always liked Led Zeppelin maybe more so than ever because they are not likely to do a PinkFloyd/RollingStones revival tour.

During the tragedy of 'Hurricane Katrina' - I was constantly reminded of that Zep song:
    'When The Levee Breaks' .

That's the first think I thought about when I saw reports about the devistation of New Orleans.

led zeppelin is okay. i think they are overrated, but i admire how much variation they have between their different songs.

Led Zeppelin are among the most important musicians of the rock music, like Beatles and Jimi Hendrix or Pink Floyd. I listen to them since I was 14-years old and I still like them very much. They are my most favourite band :)

I always heard Zeppelin since the 70's because of my oldest brother. But in 1982 one of my best friends turned me on to some Zeppelin bootlegs from 1969 and 1970. After that heplayed the album Houses of the Holy, then I became hooked on to Zeppelin. Tehy are my favorite band of all time. To me Led Zeppelin is the best band period.

I've liked Zeppelin for as long as I can remember. My dad has always put on Led Zeppelin IV since I was a kid, and I've known all the songs on it for as long as I can remember. Then I got into all their other albums, and I never looked back. By far my favorite band, the way they played and grooved together was just... ridiculous.
