Have you ever watched a child sitting there and someone has his toy or he wants someones toy so he walks up and bomps them upside the head with a kungfu grip gi joe? lol......that is what war is.....It is old rich folks who have not grown out of that childish time in life and so they get jealous and have to go bomp the other guy in the head.....Sadam played with Bush's oil ...Bush bomped him on the head........The english screwed around with our tea.....so we bomped them on the head......i know it is a bit of an exxageration but that is the basics of war in my mind now.

oh and let me add to it....that too bad it is not just one childish ruler hitting the other one in the head, but they have to involve the whole playground

I wish that I were as intelligent as both of you....i am pretty sure that i understand war is not basic, but what do i know i am just a poor dumbass thinking that maybe someone could lower themselves to my horribly drawn out metaphor of a complex issue.....can i be your little grasshopper so that one day I can be like you.....please??

Well you understand sarcasm. Way to go.

I don't have the energy to debate with tykes tonight.

Wars are extremly complex issues. I'll play devils advoate.

Many of the problems in Iraq now have less to do with occupation and more to do with social factors of three very different ethnic groups tossed together in a haty map draw up after World War two.

The price of oil has risen and Bush doesn't own any oil futures, and it doesn't take much common sense to see that the price of oil would have risen after Iraqs government fell during the oil for food era. Bush has oil advisors, he knew this would happen so the stealing oil

I certainly didn't support the war, but if you compare numbers, many more people died in the same period of time in the mid 90's due to trade embargos on Iraqi goods leading to Iraq being one of the poorest nations in the middle east. * As measured by poverty, not GDP* Certainly many more died during the height of the emphal campaign of genocide aginst the kurds.

Kurdistan has clearly benifited from the occupation. And what about the implications on the rest of the middle east? Syria has withdrawn from Lebanon this year, and Lebanon had it's first elections. And now Egypt, as a real test to progresss being made in the middle east, is having elections, although filled with strife, is very positive.

And today Sharon left the party he founded to start a moderate party in Isreal to move forward the palestine withdrawls. How much of this would have happened without the Iraq war?

So there are certainly upsides... it's a very complex issue. Nobody said you we're dumb. Just that you were duming down the issue.

War means never having to say you're sorry.

  10. I know for a fact you have never read the art of war......

I will continue to speculate that you do not actually understand why we ever went to any given war.....

    assumptions yes

    wrong I strongly suspect not.......

quest techie.....I spent my whole life wanting to be a in the military i had filled out my papers, and was about to make my MEPS appointment and I got rearended ina c ar accident and got laid up for about 3months had time to think and completely changed my outlook on the whole thing thanks to my dad (ex special forces) who made me do a lot fo thinking....I have read The Art of War- sun tzu...and "On War" by Von Klausewitz....as well as many others......Yes war is more complex than what i said and i even said that in the original post... i said i know that i have exagerated.......My point was that war IS very similar to that.....that is how it starts....when you are a child...it is human nature....this post wasnt specific to any particular war...the point is is that there are other ways to settle disputes than blowing each other to smitherines....But its alright if yall disagree...I dont know why people in a hippie forum would support war though.....peace.

  14. don't support it, just understand that it isn't a simple creature.....
