a cab driver in LA found a bag left in his cab Inside, packed in clear plastic cases were diamonds — about 100 of them, cut and polished and worth, it turned out, $350,000. Also inside was a cell phone bill. He called the guy and returned them, What would you have done? reference http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051118/ap_on_re_us/lost_diamonds_1
probably give it to people out on the street like i was robin hood...robin hood men in tights that is, minus the men part.. i wouldnt keep them for myself, thats just asking for some shitty trouble...
the same thing.. only a idiot would have stole them.. if your a cabby in L.A. anpick up a fair ya report to dispatch.. if the dood looses them in yer cab an ya keep them ya go to jail.. if ya return them chances are youll get a fat reward.. what would ya do?? i sure as hell wouldnt be a moron...
I wouldn't have a clue about how to "fence" diamonds, so I might have returned them too. Cash on the other hand... I'd like to think i'd return it, but I can't say for sure. Today I'm out of weed, and can't get any more till payday (saturday). Lets just say that no one better leave any cash sitting around me today.:&
yeah i would have defiantly returned them b/c of the integrity issue. i wouldnt have been able to live with myself if i would have kept them. and yeah, im sure i would have gotten a fat reward anyways... and if not... oh well.
Only somebody with a lack of common sense would have kept something of that value...if someone has possession of something so expensive, then they probably have the connections to get what is theirs back.
just what I was thinking whats the use of dimonds when your at the bottom of the ocean wearing concrete round your ankles? S
I would've kept them, shitty, I know, but I'm just being honest. I would end up selling them one at a time at different pawn shops and jewelers to avoid suspicion. I know it's wrong to steal someone's property, but chances are that I need them more than the owner ever will.
First thing that would have happened is: the pawnshop owner would have handed your ID info over to the cops the moment they realised that diamond with a certain ID # surfaced in said pawnshop.
