hey can anyone help..? ive got fungal or mould problems whats the difference...something is killing mine. dont know what to do. its like the leaves are doing loads of differnt things....but generally curling down. some go dark yellow and twisty at the stem or just wilt and die, some go kinda yellow at the edge then this mould starts growing on it. there is like mould on the edge of the leaf where iit is dying and the stems which were pruned start moulding too. when i remove it it shakes off powdery mouldy stuf. and the smaller flowering growths at the bottom of the plant instead of swelling at the stem and carrying on flowering the first two pistils are going brown and they die. the main colars are fine but the mould will start to grow on the inside as they start flowering more if i dont do something soon coz thats waht happend last time. when i remove the bad parts next time i come back its started somewehre else so i dont know what to do....please can someone point me in a good direction.....?????????????????????????????? anyone there?
yeah just had another look and it seems the edges of the leaves are going brown and them going mouldy but themould is also attacking the stems of the leaves that were pruned and it gets into the bud....what can i do? other leaves are like pale green and goldy yelow and they shrivel up and die. bd stuf please help
O.K. what are you doing to control your humidity? Do you have 1 CF per minute air exchange? Are you running a de-humidifyer? Those are your first concerns. There are two things I have used that will help, Advanced nutrients Pirhanha to attack biologicaly with microbes. It has benificial fungus that kills your fungus. SM-90 A natural plant oil spray effective against many diseases and pests. Then look at your soil it may be nute lock or cal-mag def. hope this helps Also carefully remove and destroy infected areas.
You can spray a little water on the underside of a leaf- look at it in the light there should be some grayish discoloration with either. You reall wont know whicg fungus until you send samples to a lab. Unless your med status i wouldnt send any sample out to labs. Also you mention some discoloring and yellowing, this sounds like calcium or magnesium def. You can use 2 tablespoons epsom salt in a gallon of water and spray it. This will also help your plant regain it's natural ability to resist disease. Cal mag plus by botanicare might be a good thing to add to your soil also. dolamite lime also provides the cal/mag nessesarry.
do you have a fan to move air around the room? what is the humidity like in there and how wet are you keeping the soil? keep it all on the dry side and a fan to move air around the room and your plants should be fine.
