do u really enjoy 80ś music, even sober, or is just when you are wasted/drunk and melancolic and remember the old days, i mean would u listen to "carrie" or "It's the final countdown" and feel, "wow what a musical experience, i love this music"...?

That was my music when I was a teenager (I'm from 68) and I still like it a lot. I never could get into most of the stuff from the 90s and today's hits don't interest me at all.

i think all generations have their good and bad points, the 80's inperticular had just as many quality bands and music than any other era. However it did recieve a bit of a set back trying to compete with the 70's a new generation of people trying to be more darish than those before them, and that materialised in some dodgy forms. but on the whole 80's bands are great, even from a purely pop stand point, like them or not but the likes of ABC, human league and spandau ballet did write some amazingly strong, catchy and talented pop songs. on the other hand you had the likes of the smiths the cure and towards the end of the 80's the likes of dinosaur jr and the pixies.

If you were to judge a generation on purely a few dodgy songs, then in truth you could say the 50's were rubbish, or the 60's were awful or indeed right now that there are no good bands

so yeah the 80's was definately a musical experience, obviously the rubbish songs were rubbish, but there was a wealth of music, culture doesnt get stagnant its historical perspective that places these things on them.

    hehe, musical rant

    but yeah totally...GO THE 80'S!

yeah in every decade there is the crap music, and sometimes the best music is the stuff that people from the decade dont even remember coz it never really charted when it came out.

oh my god have you read any of this post at all? about how each generation has good music and bad music and you shouldnt judge it on either..???

    90's

oasis, blur, radiohead, nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, ash, aimee man, belle & sebastian, jeff buckley, REM, super grass, aimee man, elliott smith, ocean colour scene, alice in chains, incubus, the manic street preachers, sonic youth, mudhoney, portishead.....

is that enough for you? i could go on all day

each decade has good music and bad music...

i could selectively listen to music from the 60's and decide that the entire era was a mistake...but i dont

Born in 71 and I as a 80s teen I hated 90% of the 80s but each decade has it gems some very good rock/hard rock/metal bands/thrash/rap came out.
