1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

ok, we'll be spending a week at starwood. the kids went last year & had a blast, but i was wiped out by being "supermom" the whole time. this year i hope to network with other parents & see if we can come up with babysitting arrangements for nighttime & maybe swap some stuff. last year i had a partner with me; this year i'm on my own with the kids. i'll be sharing a fire with a friend but he's already told me not to count on him for help with the rugrats.

what's the bare minimum of stuff i can get away with taking? we will be making a couple of runs into town to wash diapers & do laundry; hopefully that will cut down on the amount of clothes.

there is a child care area for the little one & organized kids' activities for the 6-year-old. will bring toys be truly necessary when there are rocks/sticks/bugs/flowers/other children to check out? last year was the rainiest, muddiest starwood ever & i want to come up with some "stuck-in-the-tent" rainy evening games & activities to keep them from driving me crazy. they'll probably want to go to the drum circles with me.

anybody ever go camping with a potty-training toddler?

whew.... good luck sister. i love having my friends bring their kids to fests.... but i don't envy the mamas who gotta chase em all weekend on their own. my advice, bring the potty chair fer sure. and fer yer own peace of mind, do bring toys. sure bugz and sticks are fun to play with.... but you don't wanna loose that gamble and end up with nothing for em =/ its so great that most fests have kids areas and craft sections :) be sure to bring body paint!!! nothing's sweeter than a painted toddler belly. good luck!!
