I find it easier to "disconnect" myself while i have meditation music in the background. I was trying to download some tunes that would be good and found a few but they are not consistent and make me lose focus...anyway, I want to buy a cd with good music for relaxation, preferably a mix of music and nature sounds (i found one with sounds of the ocean, its beautiful, but it's really short)

    any suggestions?

    thank you

It's a tape, but it's totally worth it! It's blissingly beautiful. Maybe he's made it into a CD? I dunno. Get some tibetan chanting--it's gorgeous. Takes you deep into your belly. mmm also look for Ragas.

hey thanks White Ginger, I found it on cd format on amazon, i'm a bit out of money so i'll save up a bit for it. I also found Ocean dreams by the same artist, it seems very nice too, i had a listen to the sound samples. really pricey though hehehehe

i'll check out some tibetan chanting and raga too..

Check out http://www.listeningearth.com.au They have a wonderful collection of nature sounds cds. I have found meditating on nature sounds many times more productive and easier than on any music.

meditating to mantras tends to keep me connected even if it does have soft electronica in the background, however i think i tend to have a more consistent meditation when i practice in silence

I really get carried away in music, it makes meditation a lot simpler. But sometimes I just like to enjoy complete silence :)
