hey yall...new to the site and wanted to ask a quick question. my g/f's only 17 and we are very sexually active and she is not on birth control. her parents are one of those really strict ones and will not let her or take her to get it cause they dont want her having sex. is there a way i can get it for her without her parents, either by maybe purchasing it online or getting it prescribed by a doc? thanks all!

have her to go to her family physician. he cannot tell her parents if she asks him not to, but she will have to pay for them herself that way. he should be able to give her a prescription and possibly some sample packs. You can also go to a planned parenthood and find out when their doctor comes in, who can also write a prescription for her. Both of these will require an appointment and a discussion over the risks of birth control and how to use it properly, I'd suggest she reads over the info pack as well before starting on them (again, risks and benefits, proper usage, what if you forget a pill, etc are in that info pack)

Planned Parenthood. Birth control and they will give you free condoms.

Yeah, I'd like to get me some birth control, too.

But my doctor would definitely tell my mum. And my parents are arab. So that's bad times. What do you have to go through at Planned Parenthood to get birth control?

i need to get birth control too. i think all you do is fill out some paperwork, maybe get some tests done and a pap smear, and then you get it. im just gonna go to a clinic and get some. i think itll be free too.

You'll have to pay for it yourself.

If you run her insurance her parents will get a statement to that effect.

BTW what happens if the BC fails and she gets pregnant?

Just go up to planned parenthood. If you want to know where it is just ask me cause u would be going to the same one my lady goes to. Everything done there is confidential. (440) 331-8744 is the phone number to the one you would be going too. Just call them and ask them what you need to do. Pills there are HELLA cheap compared to going to a regular doctor!! I wouldnt recommend taking Ortho Tri Cyclen for your pills. I know a few people that got prego while on birth control and were all taking that pill. My lady takes Cylessa and has been on birth control for almost 5 years now. I have never used a condom and have never had a problem. YOU MUST TAKE YOUR PILLS ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE THOUGH! That is very important!!

You should use a condom every time you have sex, even if your girlfriend is on the pill. STDs are a real concern and will be transmitted if you are only using the pill.

I dont think i have to worry about STDs when neither I or her are sleeping with other people. I know im clean and i know she is clean cause im the only guy she has been with.

Two people might only be sleeping with each other but what if one gets an infection, the girl a bacteria infection and you have sex. Things can come of poor hygeine, reactions to soap. If the girl gets sick or even midly ill, the pill can be ineffective, for a lot of reasons. Just because nothing has happened yet, does not mean something can't. But, it's your pay packet if you get pregnant so whatever.

std's aren't always transmitted just by sex. Getting an STD check along with your yearly physical is a good idea, it's quick and not difficult (usually a urine or blood test, or both)
