Does anyone ever think we're just a bunch of big stupid monkeys... that really don't know anything and that our conscience isn't so high and mighty as we believe because in essence we have nothin to compare it with and that most of our thoughts and behaviors are dictated by our instinct... that maybe we just believe all the crap we believe because our own ego's tell us that it's right and we are just so afraid of admitting that maybe we are wrong and don't really know a dang thing about anything... that maybe all these acheivements of ours aren't as special as we believe because they are just a result of well-developed tool-making and problem-solving instinct.... that maybe humans are just in essence big primates that dont know what's goin on.... Oh I don't know, I guess I'm rambling now and I know I am quite Cynical about the human species, but does anyone ever think the same thing?
I think this way everytime im on mushrooms. I act this way aswell. Also I look like an ape when looking at myself in the mirror.
i dont think you articulated that too well to someone who doesnt know what your talking about, but i know JUuuuuuust what you mean. the mind is a powerful thing and can convince itself a lot of really stupid shit. everything youve learned though, is just learned. nature didnt teach them to you, a man influenced by lots of man made things taught them. all these words and meanings etc, YOU breathe life into them. rarely are our thoughts truly objective of the REALITY of the world, if we can even say that its possible to KNOW the reality of THE world, in all its spiritual splendor. human drama and our own self importance reign supreme, and drag us into desire and suffering almost without fail everytime we wake up and think a thought.
anyways if you compare us to other monkeys we are smart as fuck but lots of people do forget we are just animals, nothin special
We may be smarter than them, but I don't believe we have an accurate measure to determine how smart other animals are. Perhaps other intelligent animals (Chimps, Dolphins, etc) are more intelligent then we believe and we don't know simply because we can not understand them, either intentionally (Our ego's must defend themselves) or unintentionally because we lack the resources....
Yeah...maybe other animals already went through this whole technology/space/we're going to figure everything out phase...and they know it's a waste of time. So they just decided, hell we'll take off all our clothes and quit this whole "intelligent" act. Probably dogs and cats... They figured out that all that really matters is that you're cute. Now we pick up their poops for them.
you need imagination to apply knowledge but it will only work if it is logical you can only get working logical answers if you have enough information you can only get enough information if you focus enough you can only focus by ignoring anything else you can only ignore things if you are able to seperate things you can only seperate things if you understand what you want to understand what you want you have to be aware of a self to be aware of a self you have to....think symbolically? theres a strange ramble for you....
Hey... Dogs and cats are top of the food chain as far as I'm concerned... seriously, we may be more intelligent and "rule the world" but dogs and cats rule us... We take care of their every essential need...
By thinking of ourselves as high and mighty we prove that we are, in fact, high and mighty. Since there is no true natural purpose to anything, the purpose or meaning we attach is truth, so far as we are concerned, which is really all that matters.
