I fought the school and the school won.

I went to school barefoot today. i walked to the bus stop in the rain and intothe school. i barely got into first period when Mrs. Meyrs told me to call my mom to drop me off some shoes. my mom started screaming at me on the phone cuz she didnt know i came to school barefoot. its not really that i wanted to walk around barefoot just to do it, i just wanted to try the rules and see if theyd make me get some shoes. i read thehandbook twice and it didn't say anything about barefooting. Mrs. Meyrs says its a given, but it feels good to be the first person in my school to go to school barefoot. so technically, i won

 

they'll probably put it in the handbook now.

.. my school had it in the handbook. we weren't even allowed to wear slippers. its "unsanitary" to wear slippers..? I went in class barefoot. but thats cause I knew which teachers cared and which didnt. .. in the halls I wore shoes cause the VP hated me already. .. plus there's soda on the floors all the time.

 

I really wish my life had so little conflict I'd have to go looking for it.

That's really the reason they gave to justifiy that rule

 

i wish schools didnt care so much wat we wear or arnt wearing. i mean im going there to learn (well not really i only go cuz i have to) so who cares what im wearing? i mean common, you dont wear shoes in your house do u? cuz u think it will make ur house dirty or somethin, then why when we go to school, they say taking ur shoes off is unsanitary? your just confusing the hell out of me!! haha. i just dont get it.

at my school we had the most strictest school uniform ever, you got in shit just for having your top button undone, it was so stupid. but now im at college i dout theyd have a prob with bare feet but i dont think anyones tried it so i think i will just to see what they say

i wear moccasins in my school and i have these sweater boots that go up to my knee .. i love my sweater boots, and my bitch teacher glares at them everytime i have them on and i smile at her.. i hate that bitch teacher.. what a bitch. i'll just go wear my sweater boots, its cold outside. i love snow.

There was a stupid rule about the short clotthes, but it's not respected yet.
You can smoke in the toilets, everybody do it.You can do a lot of different things..I don't have a problem with the school rules

 

It's ridiculous because American schools are ridiculous with their dress codes. unless you meant something else, if so please elaborate. Somewhere here (another thread?) it was stated that the kids couldn't wear clothing associated with "gangstas" etc, like baggy pants, etc, because it was disruptive. We got a warning mailed home because one day my daughter wore a hat. I can't help but think they've got their priorities all screwed up in the schools here.

just remembered too, the mall police called one day because they had my daughter and her friend cornered at a payphone, and they were barefoot!! horrors. and wearing baggy pants too, to cover up their bare feet. Aren't there more important things to worry about?
