i would scrape the resin out of the pipe before i tried to boil it or anything, just take a paperclip or any other tool that would be good for scraping and scrape the resin onto some aluminum foil and smoke dat shit then to clean it out the rest of the way u could boil it in water or try a salt rubbing alcohol solution

rubbing alcohol will dissolve the sticky oils in the pipe b/c the cannaboids in marijuana are alcohol/fat soluble not water soluble and the salt i think is just a corosive substance that helps get some of the shit out much like the tiny grains in a lot of the hand and body scrubs help to scrape away dead skin cells.

The salt is only important if there is enough volume inside the piece being cleaned to shake around.

The alcohol dissolves the resin as Whynotsaid, but the salt is simply used to "scrape" the resin away.

Soak the mother in Rubbing Alcohol for 30 mins, hold any carbs mouth piece holes etc, Shake it up, dump it, repeat a few times, then take a wire pipe cleaner to it. I cleaned both my bowls today, my friend allmost had an organism when I showed him how clean I got them.

so what about a glass pipe?
I cant get shit out of certian spots?
And I can't just boil it. "Oh, hi Mom, Hi, Dad. What am I doing? Just cleaning out my piece."
My parents would have heart attacks and die

DONT BOIL YOUR PIPE. It weakens the glass. Do the same thing, soak it in Rubbing Alchol.

Huh...? What do you mean how do you get the resin?...

What I do is I take a bowl, fill it with acetone, soak a portion of the pipe in it (it loosens up the resin like fuck), then I take paper clips, toothpicks, pipe cleaners, whatever, and just wipe the resin out and plop it in the jar. I do that to all the resin I can, and then if there's any I can't get, I let the whole pipe soak for a couple mins, then I plug up the holes and swish the acetone around inside the pipe and it usually gets most of the stuff out which I put in the bowl. Then if there's anything else remaining I soak it in acetone again, then I take the pipe and shoot water through it with a sink or something until it's completely clean. Then I take the acetone with the resin in it, put it in a microwave at about 10%, and cook down the mix. You can cook it down all the way and then you'll just have resin. Or.... before you put it in the microwave in the first place you can try to break up the resin clumps and swish it around and just let it soak for a little bit, then strain out the resin clumps, cook the liquid down and you'll have hash.

the best way to clean your pipes, bongs is to take them apart, put them in hot water with soap, let it soak for 15 minutes and then clean the parts with rubbing alcohol... best way!:p
