HAs anyone got any recommendations for some electronic music they recently picked up?

I've been listening to some Amon Tobin - Supermodified and Permutation.

For those who also like underground hip-hop, I HIGHLY recommend checking out a group called Live Human. Monstereosis is a great intro to this kickass trio of a bass player, drummer, and dj. Live Human Live is their latest release and its the best organic sounding hip-hop i've heard.

Yeah, Amon Tobin is pretty cool. It's all sampled beats too. I have alot of records that he's sampled, it's weird when you listen to them, and hear the same melodies.

I'm sure you've heard the basics, aphex twin, BOC, squarepusher, add N to X...

Scratch Pet Land-Mathmax- I just bought this cd not to long ago, I'm really liking it. They're very experimental, often mixing electronica, tradional instruments and circuit bent toys.

I am Robot and Proud- I love this guy, I preach about him every chance I get. If you like 8 bit and chip music, you'll love him. He's very melodic and warm though, much more than normal 8 bit music.

    Puss- They're a hardcore kind of 8-bit lo-fi punk, but's it's not punk music. It's all gameboy.

Lemon Jelly-Really smooth and organic. A flowing beat, nothing really complex.

    cool, backtothelab.

im going to chek out all those groups you listed eventually, especially I am Robot and Proud.
I tend to preach a lot too, buts its always about JAck dangers and Meat Beat Manifesto.

Nightwanderer, what FSOl albums are you into lately? I just found out the duo did a followup to The ISness called The Otherness. Its a bunch of reworkings of isness material. YOu might be familiar with their papua new guinea translations, i believe this is the idea they stuck with on the otherness, remixing and reanimating previous work.

hell yeah, squarepusher is one of the best live shows ive ever seen. the man is a genious. And the stuff ive heard about amon tobin live is incredible. Bass so loud that you cant see straight or puke. Hes amazing. And FSOL is great also. Also, Photek and Wagon Christ are good too. The orb and Orbital. And of course, shpongle and hallucinogen.

Jenkinson is amazing. When did you see him? I saw him on the 18th last summer, but it was his post electronica stuff. He's an amazing bassist. He played some stuff on his midi bass, it fucking blew my mind. Some insane sounds. Alot of people did'nt like him going organic. He made some wild stuff before, with the sampler, but I really like his live stuff. It's really uninhibited.

I like alot of wagon christ too, but it seems he kind of disapeared for a while

    speaking of squarepusher..

if you like squarepusher, then chances are your also an Aphex Twin fan too....well, I had been holding off on the "Come To Daddy" single from aphex, until a few weeks ago when I heard the cd in its entirety. My jaw dropped, the single was amazing. i highly encourage everyone to get it! For 1, its not as harsh as the original Come to Daddy sound, there is 1 mix on it that is similar, but the other songs are pure genious.
