Have any of you used NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) in conjunction with your meditation practice? It seems like some of the techniques would be useful. "Anchoring" during a meditative state, for example, by repeating a word or ritual, could be used to recreate a relaxed, meditative state at any time of stress. "Modeling" a master meditator is an obvious application too. Any thoughts?

    Hello Steve,

We offer a course in meditation, and beginning meditation with the purpose of helping people to be gently guided into trance states. Durring the process of guiding small groups into trance states (which they allow themself to experience) we use Neuro Linguistic Patterning, similar to the NLP you are referring to. The process involves going into trance yourself (meditation instructor) and carefully toning your voice to communicate the trance state. This technique seems to be very effective in group.
