Religious books similar to chinese whispers

what do you think?

people are studying books from thousands of years ago it highly possible that only a small % of it that was written 1000+ yrs is in the books they worship today.

example

i started college in september and as an ice breaker we played CW what we started with was completely different (it didn't even sound theto the end result and that was only 10 minutes and about 20 people.

religious books are written by men told to them by god (which if done today the person would be deemed insane). we all know that humans aren't perfect so the temptation of adding a little bit to the bible wouldn't surprise me.
