I've had my nipples pierced since the end of june. Lately ive been cleaning them every to every other day with peroxide or alcohol but they still get the scabby stuff and still get what im assuming is pus...is this normal? Should I clean them any other way? Also Ive noticed if my guy has my mouth on them its worse...what do i do?

Has it just not been long enough yet?

One problem is that you are cleaning them with peroxide and alcohol, this with clean them out but also dry them up really bad. I've always used a salt water solution on all my piercings.

Within 5 months they should not be tender anymore but will still continue to heal inside which is why you notice the pus. No longer clean it everyday just when you notice the crusties...and make sure when your cleaning to push your barbell as far as you can on either side when cleaning.

oh ya, and as tempting as it may be to jsut pick the crusties off it will just cause more tears in the skin so be sure to just soak them.

Looks good though, what gauge do you have in there?

Wow..thats all I have ever cleaned them with...would normal salt or epsome (sp) work? it seems like that would burn...

I figured they should be healed by now. When I cleaned them Ive been taking the barbells out and soaking them then soaking my nipples...should I leave them in still?

Oh and they are a 14...I have changed the barbells like 3 or 4 times so far...I want to guage them really badly but I wanted to know whats going on with the crusty shit first

one more question..should I have my guy keep his mouth off? could spit be bad for them

use only eyewash grade saline (cold rinses and hot soaks) and if it gets infected use biactin or betadine (your artist should be able to supply you with a couple sample packs of what they recomend). If you don't have an artist that is commited to after care, FIND A NEW ONE! The place I go to will even pick up after other places messes free of charge

I just washed mine with soap and water, took it out and cleaned it maybe once a month but usually leave it in, it healed in about 2 months completely.

I can't believe you've been cleaning with alcohol and peroxide!! EEK!
First off, alcohol is VERY abrasive and drying.
Secondly, peroxide is VERY bad for new growing cells! You know that foaming it does when you put it on a cut or whatever? That's the peroxide killing EVERYTHING, good cells included!! What you should try doing is LITFA. (Leave It The Fuck Alone!) I used that to heal my nipple piercings and they healed in 2 months. I would just soak them in warm water when I was in the bathtub/shower to get the scratchy "crusties" off, but other than that, just left them alone.
And nipple piercings can take up to a year to heal, depending on your body and who you are, and how fast you heal.

    EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT! :D

I healed in like 2 months. If that, but I'm a super healer.

Take that vitamin e and soak like a mofo.
