Does anyone know if taking acidophilus or probiotics orally can help vaginal yeast problems or infections? This is a question that has plagued me for ages, ever since long ago when I did research on do-it-yourself yeast infection treatments. Somehow it just doesn't make sense to me that the little guys would make it from your digestive tract to your reproductive system. But it does seem to help when I've got yeasty little bastards annoying me. And yes, I see my reproductive system as a battle ground between the good guys (good bacteria) and the bad guys (yeasties!). Anyway, any insight on this issue??
I have been fortunate enough to never have to need it, but a couple of my friends swear by it and recommend it often to others. Good Luck! T
I have used it for many years because I was ill for awhile. I was on antibiotics which led to many yeast infections. My doctor put for on this because I hate yoghurt, and I can't live without it now. When I was sick I would take 10 a day, now I only take 2 a day. It certainly can't hurt you, but it is more preventative then being able to treat.
yes, the acidophilus will help & be sure to cut ALL sugar out of your diet b/c it really copntributes to the yeast growth. good luck...feel better soon!
