i think its natural the days of wetnuring have seemed to be long gone. it never really bothered me. i had a good friend of mine nurse my baby while i was really sick and become dehydrated and my milk actually dried up for 2 days. and i even nursed my nephew once. i was watching him with my son 2 months apart very tired and not used to carring for 2 under 6mo at the same time. this was just a thing of habit to me i was so used to nursing a babe when they were hungry. and i didn't even realize i had the wrong baby till he was latched on and into his feeding. well we all made it through that babysitting experience.

nope. i'm afraid pregnancy doesn't agree with me at all. it's just too radical on my body. i'm built to adopt.

i breast fed my nephew once. he was only about six months old. he was reluctant to do it and didn't take much, but i wanted to comfort him while his mother was out. no big deal, but i wouldn't do it to just any baby of course.

i breastfed in public many times but i always covered up. even then there were people who freaked out over it. once with my son i was feeding him in a food court, under a blanket, and this man sitting nearby realized what was going on he got this horrified look on his face and got up and moved away.

A few years ago there was a story about how a woman went to a daycare center where her baby was being cared for, to nurse the baby. While she was there another child started crying and was obviously hungry, so she fed that one too. Then the other mother found out about it and got the police involved, and all hell broke loose. As I recall it, there was talk of charging the woman with "indecent assault". But then like so many interesting things that happen, they never said how the story ended, or anyway I missed it. There wouldn't be anyone who remembers by any chance, would there?

I would freak out and call the police if some strange woman nursed my child, too.....god knows what she eats or drinks or drugs she takes......or worse, diseases.

I would have to know the baby and mother before anything like that took place. Wet nurses are fine, WITH CONSENT.

yeah i totally agree i would have to know the woman. I would totally freak out if a random woman came and shuck her boob in m kids mouth - you never know what she might have etc.
