What kinds of groceries do you buy/ask people to buy? What's your DAILY food, not neccessarily munchies, but just foods you eat now. I drink a lot of red bull and stuff like that to fight the downs and such, chips, chicken, corn, mash potatoes (yeah, I eat a lot...I just eat my snacks all day, and my meals 4 times a day haha...and I run a lot so it goes no where ) But anyway, this was inspired because my mom asked me what I'd like at the store and I said, "Doritos and soda." and she goes, "Are you sure you don't smoke pot?" "I dunno, I can't remember for some reason."
I could live on chicken, and only chicken. But I also eat a lot of nachos, peanut butter crackers, cantelope, hot dogs, ramen noodles, biscuits, hot pockets, and a shit-load of other foods. And all of this is in between meals. I like to drink cream soda, that shit is wonderful. I drink alot of water, pepsi, tea, and I absolutely have to have some milk every single day.
i hate making stuff so i eat stuff like; hot pockets, ramen noodles, chips, frozen pizza, frozen burritos, those instant noodle cup things, basiccly anything that takes less then 3 minutes to make. drinks i have are tea, coffe, alcohol, water. im not to big on pop
mostly, lots of healthy stuff - tuna, soup, wheat thins, triscuts, cottage cheese with chives, oatmeal, cheerio's (well, the store brand ones), raisins, gatorade, low-fat yogurt, bread (wheat or multi-grain), peanut butter and jelly. and sometimes i get some Slim Fast. i dont' really get snack foods, except for tortilla chips and salsa...
for drinks its usually water, tea, milk, or organic fruit juice for food I eat alot of chicken, beef, pork, seafood, salads, sandwhich's, fresh fruit and veggies, pasta's with homemade sauce, a variety of nuts and occassionally some cookies, yogurt, or organic chips/crunchy snack food. also lots of cheese on stuff... I definatly stay away from soda or greasy ass fast food...
I buy organic vegetables and fruit (okay, sometimes it isn't organic, but I can't get a ride to a real store as often as I'd like!), veggie chik'n nuggets, all sorts of vegetarian soup, salad, peanut butter, crackers, cheese (not quite vegan, heh)fruit juice, tea, soy or rice milk, oatmeal, coffee, and of course, chocolate. This is all stuff that I have for when the dining halls on campus are closed, or when I'm too lazy or busy to walk. ~Nova
YES! without a doubt the most amazing food ever. except for maybe strawberries =) i get the morningstar kind and dip em in bbq sause! =D
It's in this forum for 2 reasons: 1) I only post in this forum 2) I wanted to see what influence smoking has on your sober food choices.
Word up to the veggies here... Lately for me its been lots of unorganic naners. unsweetened soymilk(cuttin my sugar intake down, as temping and delicious as the vanilla/chocolate stuff is) and french vanilla granola(gotta get sugar somewhere(not real vanilla in it) peace cereal. that shit is to die for. assorted veggie burritos on ezekiel sprouted bread and occasionally the plain wheat bread. sometimes fake meat, always organic salad sprinkled on, many bean/lentil soup combinations, and vegan butter. organic apples and oranges... veggie burgers on sprouted bagels, as opposed to thomases whole wheats i used to eat(avoid high fructose corn syrup and gmo foods now). tofutti cheese, gotta watch that corn syrup in take though. lets see, dark chocolate LOVE that stuff. organic peanut butter is fuckin to die for. the other night i got baked and was like fuck it im gonna try my moms peanut butter and it didnt taste anything even like peanut butter. it was liquidy and very, un peanut buttery. almost made me sick and cringe in my stomach. looked on the ingredients, hydrogenated cotton/rapeseed oil. see environment forum about what is wrong withcotton, that shit was gross and i will never again be able to eat that kindof peanut butter, or that brand anyway. peanut butter and jelly, straight up peanut butter. moms brought home chinese noodles and brown rice and veggies for me tonight which was bangin. organic tortilla chips(can be found in regular grocery stores here) and tomatoe sauce with some sesame tahini mixed in. hmm lets see, also peace raisin bran organic, but raisin bran is vegan and cheaper andim considering buying it sometimes. LOOVE cereal in soymilk. waffles, and REAL maple syrup, MMMMMM... love real maple syrup. occasionally the fake sausage fryed but im tryin to avoid ovens to budget too, electric ovens=inefficient and frying things aint too healthy though i could be eating way worse. the possibilities are endless, and its allll vegan, not hurting this planet, the anmals, or my taste buds ;P i love food entirely too much and need to start eating on a budget for sustanenence, but at least its organic though. heyy i also eat hemp seeds as a supplement sprinkled on things. i bet you guys would be interested in that... its complete veggie protein, and the most balanced form of essential fatty acids which are really good for your brain. 1/5th of the food you eat goes to your head, so be careful wat ya eat or your liable to kill your buzz, just watch. fish have essential fatty acids, but not as good as hemp seeds. think that is really neat, how were supposed to evolve and stop eatin critters and get into some hempness. you can find em at most health/natural/whole food stores, yum.
Good topic. I'm trying to eat healthier, so I gave up most meat. Occasionally I'll have chicken, or tuna or sardines, or some other fish if my mom cooks it. Otherwise, I eat a lot of bagels with cheese slices melted on it, hardboiled eggs, spagetti, ramen noodles, rice (especially pilaf), fruit, veggies, mixed nuts, and granola bars. I also eat a lot of (probably too much) bread, if you include the bagels. I mainly only drink water, except right now, as it is cider season. Oh, and morning coffee, or green tea (or pine needle tea which is better. If you want to try it, just chop up a handful or so of pine needles as fine as you can, then boil it for 5 minutes. it has more vitamin c than fresh squeezed oragnes). I also eat way too much sugar (candy bars, candy corn, coffee sweetener, those granola bars). Has anyone noticed they put corn syrup in just about everything?
BOXES of white castle sliders, pizzas, pizza break, tons of water, juices, coke, mad cerial, mad snawich makings, visine, lighters, beer, bread, tons of meats and protiens, ice cream. i dont tend to get munchies to often wich is cool, for some reason ive been eating less greesy heavy foods, wich is good to.
that sounds really good! just wanted to add (if anyones gonna try this) that i think most of the pine needle looking things (like the shorter ones) are toxic. not sure though...thinking back to this wilderness survival deal...i think youre only supposed to eat the long ones that come in bunches of two or three. i think... =)
That's good to know, though I'm not sure it's true. Well, just stick with pine trees and you'll be fine then.
