hello everyone, i'm about to hit the road, but would love to join a commune for a little while before i take on more traveling, just to get to know some good good folks, learn a little, and a place to really put thoughts together and reground myself a bit. i dont know if i'll just be staying on the commune for a week, or a month or more! i just know that working on a farm for a while is exactly what i need, meeting some good folks and some good good Earth - but just the same, that i'm probably going to get called out to the road. If there are anyyyy communes out there on the forums that have room for a young Soul searcher, please let me know!!! =) i spent the last week on the road, spending alot of time in the woods and on kind people's couches, and i know i'm on the boat, and i gotta take offffff. i'm home right now, saying goodbye to my parents one last time, and waiting for a massage table that my father ordered for me - that is coming in the mail any day now - that i'm planning on taking with me =) I'll have only a drum, a guitar, the massage table, some clothes with, and a wholeeee lot of Lovin - looking to learn and share and just, reconnect - with good folks and with Earth. let me know =) much much love, and thank youuuu!! Ethan
(sorry, I have no intention to hijack your post) I've been trying to find a place like that for 9+ months. At this point I'm pretty sure that you have to know some secret code word something to join any of the "good" communes or even to find a group of cool people to go traveling with. There's so much potential in every commune but people have too much unbalanced ambition and seem to love their ideas more than the actual people living there. I lived in one place where you could barely even talk to the other volunteers, it was all about doing "spiritual work" by yourself, like chopping lumber and doing laundry, to help the owner maintain her campground. If you wanted to start a relationship you had to get permission from the campground owners... not many places seem too much better than that, either, the words love and freedom were all over their website. If you haven't tried ic.org or organicvolunteers.com than go for it, but once the initial excitement wears off you'll notice they're all either religious, not looking for anyone new, or they're just cohousing projects. I think if you're looking to live with other loving people who aren't going to accept you simply because you agree with their ideas, you have to either be lucky or start your own commune, hah. Nevertheless, if you find anything let me know, that would be incredibly cool.
Dont Talk! keep chopping wood.... but by the way we love you.... KEEP CHOPPING!!!!! ha ha ha ha... Mike...
i've been looking for 1 to visit just to find out what its like if u guys find 1 let me in on the secret! lol
