I once wandered into a forest at or around the same time a woman was dismembered, after having seen the early Friday the 13th films. No joke and no word of a lie. She'd crossed some bad people and they'd taken her apart in the forest. And I decided to take a shortcut through the forest around the same time, at night. Wigged me the heck out.
I can honestly say I havent seen this movie....... nor do I have the desire to. yeah, films that do not show what happens are indeed creepier than watching someone get killed and/or mutilated...... texas chainsaw massacre uses this element alot..... people claim its one of the bloodiest, most gruesome movies ever created, yet you dont see that much blood in the movie, if at all....... it all happens behind the scenes, and your mind creates the gruesomeness.
Still, it wasn't as bad as the sequel. The first one may not have lived up to everyon'e expectations, but at least it had an original charm. The sequel sold out on every aspiration the makers had. Incidentally, does anyone know where the 3 kids from the original film are?
When Blair Witch Project came out, I had a boss who claimed her daughter believed it was true. It was so hard to avoid saying "Is she really that gullible?"
Funny thing is, my stoopid ass wife beating friend actually thought it was real, and im talking like 2-3 years after it came out and all the idiots had already realized it was all marketting bullshit. Fucking stoopid.
People go missing all over the US under more peculiar circumstances on a regular basis. I suppose that could be part of the reason why some people believed this urban legend.
Probably so. After all the hype - I was waiting and waiting for it to get scary and, well, not so much.
i got it on some shitty bootleg before i found out about any of the hype that went with it.and i wouldnt say i thought it was real but i wanted to find out more about it it reminded me a great deal of running away from home as a kid and all the scary noises in the forest
