Nothing happened

I ordered some 5x salvia extract from a known web site and when I tried it, nothing happened. I followed the proper smoking technique and still nothing. This was last night, I tried it again tonight thinking that maybe my body had to get used to it and still nothing! Is it possible that I got ripped off, I mean I spent 18 bucks for 3.5 grams and it seemed legit. The salvia I got smells just like sage, being from the same genus I know but is that right?

 

hold in for at least 20 seconds

 

use a bong or bubbler, hold in for 20 secounds, put the lighter over the top of the salvia and burn the shit out of it try again,it took me three trys after that every time i do it, IT BLOWS MY MIND

 

I dont have a bong, I was using an aluminum can for a bowl

 

thats one of the reasons,that wont work well at all for salvia,use glass,a bong is best.

 

i already answered this in another thread, but first:
-obtain a torch lighter
-get a bong
put the salvia in the bong, and burn the fuck out of it with the TORCH LIGHTER, take a nice big ass hit, and hold it in for as long as you can, or 20-30 seconds usually does the trick for me

 

my cat never uses a torch lighter and sees stars. i dont recommend a coke can or apple or any ridiculous homemade smoking device. Use a bong or a pipe and hold it in. while you are holding it in load a second bowl, blow out take a breath and light up again. its not too hard to get my cat fucked up

 

torch lighter doesnt matter ive smoked with and without them, id say what you smoke out of makes the differece ive smoked salvia out of alot of pipes and bong but the best is a glass bong

 

for some reason whenever i do it i get better effects when i use a torch lighter...but use whatever lighter u want, but a bong is essential to the process

 

Yeah, I think that the whole supercharger process from a bong makes you much more stoned (I think you need a shotty for a supercharger effect)

 

Just... whatever you do: Don't use a torch lighter with the coke can!

 

Whats The Desired Effect

 

A normal lighter works very well if the moisture level of the mix is right. Don't burn it...carry it away in the water vapour.

 

A normal lighter always works fine because the temperature in the bowl does not depend on the temperature of the flame. The only time the flame temp would be inportant would be with a vaporizer. The temp in a pipe depends on how much oksygen you suck into the flames. There is no need to hold the flame over the bowl once you have lit it. A lighter that does not extinguish itself when you drop it is very dangerous when smoking salvia.
The temp of a house fire dosn't depend on weather you used a phosphorous bomb or a match to light it.
The temp is a result of how much material is burned in a given time. How much material that can be burned in a given time depends on the amount of oxygen you can supply. The burning of salvia is an exothermic reaction that releases heat. This heat evaporates the combustable material into gas-form. Remember that liquids and solids do not burn, they have to go into gas-phase first. Once you have lit the salvia, it will continue to burn as long as there is oxygen and the rate of burning is only dependant on the supply of oxygen.
