Quite often I am told that I am tight ,scrooge etc and I always laugh. I prefer the term cheapskate. Anyway if you are a cheapskate post up your ideas to make your mony go further. My latest one is for washing detergent is for my front loader ( the type to get if you are a cheapskate) is to use a coffee scoop ( about 1/2 a tablespoonful)f caustic soda ( lye) and 1/2 a cup of washing soda crystals. The results are pretty good,probably even better than ready made expensive washing powder. So far is has not doen any damage to the machine. Hint if you are a handyman but or make a nail bag. Never out nails or screws in your pockets as they will inevitably end up in the washing machine. So post up your cheapskate hints.
