Does anyone here suffer epilepsy / seizures? Do you use Marijuana for it? If so, how do you use it and how does it work for you? If not, why not, and have you considered trying it for seizures? Any valid information about Marijuana and seizures is welcome. (In other words, no "Dude, I'm so stoned, a seizure would rock" posts.) This is a serious topic, so please respect it as such. Thanks.
I know someone who is trying to use it to stop grand mal seizures. So far, it's not working and he doesn't know how much more he should use or if it will ever make a difference. He wishes that this were studied and prescribed in measured doses, rather than guessing about how much to try. It's a scary thing for him.
I've actually had seizure-like reactions as a direct result of smoking weed. I've been so stoned that I just collapsed on the ground, on numerous occasions, and started having convulsions and my eyes were rolling back in my head and shit. I noticed that my heart was POUNDING at 200+ beats per minute when this shit happens. I don't know why this happens, but it's fucked up. On a sidenote, I always feel absolutely wonderful after these episodes.
Yes, they really need to look into this as a treatment for epilepsy and other conditions. Does the person you know notice if it helps any with between seizures? People who have regular seizures can tend to feel like crap in between them, maybe even if the pot doesn't stop the seizures, it can improve the quality of life between them. Is it possible that you maybe had WAAAAAY too much? Or that it was laced with something else?
It wasn't laced because it has happened numerous times with all different kinds of weed. Although, one time when It happened the blunt was laced with close to a gram of coke. But, like I said, it happened other times, too. So I guess it was just too much for me. Since the last time it happened, I have learned when to stop smoking so I can avoid this unfortunate reaction.
Bree, he can tell when he's ripe for a seizure. He feels a great but vague "unrest" emotionally and, yes, the marijuana helps him get through that feeling. It helps a lot to calm him and keep him productive but it won't stop the seizures.
Bree try www.letfreedomgrow.com for a relatively complete list of scientific papers on medical cannabis. I do not off the top of my head know of specific studies. I do know it is effective in MS against involuntary muscle spasm if this translates to epilepsy I cannot say but a quick search of the site will provide you with a lot of info. Via con dios chica, su problema es muy pesaroso para su vida joven. WR
Thank you, whiterasta, but it isn't me that is suffering the seizures. I am doing this bit of research for a friend of mine. Thanks for the link too, dude!
tell him to go see a doctor about it rather than do something like that. i used to have seizures, auras, and i've had only 1 grand mal seizure my entire life. They took out a piece of my front temperlobe and I haven't had a seizure since and have been phased off the extensive list of medications i took for it. does he even know what the source of the seizures are and what happen to have caused it? Mine was because of the M.M.R shot so i got a huge settlement from the government.
