My dream last night; I was in a room with a giant man and the whole room was dark in his shadow apart from me. because the only light in the room was on me lots of white butterfly type creatures landed on me, they were all over my body and my head. I opened the door to the room and ran out and tried to brush them off me, I couldn't brush them off so I opened my mouth to scream and hundredsof them started flying out of my mouth. As I kept trying to shout these white butterflirs kept flapping out of my mouth. It felt really strange Does anyone have any idea what this means? Particulary the butterflies flying out of my mouth bit.
Well, the Algonquin tribes regarded butterflies as reincarnations of dead souls. The large man might be a domineering male figure in your life, who is (perhaps unfairly) more important than anybody else. Opening doors in dreams often represents an attempt to escape a given life situation. "deams dont have meanings you have them to keep you entertained while your asleep" I tend to disagree. To me, dreams are often full of symbolism, and serve as mental simulations of choices the dreamer might make, to predict the future if certain actions are taken. Then there are prophetic dreams, lucid dreams, visionary dreams. . . the list goes on.
This is a good omen. You are probably going to settle down and get married. This is probably what this signifys. It all depends on what butterflys mean to you. Are you going to do a bit of public speaking soon? Because that is another interpretation. The flying out of your mouth bit probably means that you are going to say something creative. Matt
hmmmmm butterflys are beuatiful, but none the less they were clearly slighty scary and unwelcome to you as they are bugs, is there something in your life that is beutiful and apears good but there is too much of and it bothers you? as you were trying to escape them? trapping? maby your unaware of it? hmmmmm
mmm I don't know! But I have been thinking that maybe this dream represents me wanting to be free- trying to escape from a man, running out of a room, and also to me white butterflies kind of remind me of freedom.
like the movie "butterflies are free" with goldie hawn, an outrageous movie from the 70's. "mmm I don't know! But I have been thinking that maybe this dream represents me wanting to be free- trying to escape from a man, running out of a room, and also to me white butterflies kind of remind me of freedom." i believe this is true you want to be free. hippiewise __________________
maybe the butterflies coming out represents words or something you've been saying or wanting to say.it could mean you need to open up more and let the words comeout .the butterflies could be a metaphor for words,as in nervousness ,"getting the butterflies".just another angle
GreenBird there is always more than one way to look on a dream and find a meaning. But in the end it depends on you ... what rings true inside of you, what will you do with it and how far do you want to go. Maybe it is about your energy fields changing, and the places you enter inside yourself even as change takes you on. It is about finding balance in a sea of contradiction, and at the same time you tap into the magic of creation, and the awareness of it. The butterflies are energy you draw and set free. They are about the transformation inside the cocoons of time. They are about the wonder of life, its strangeness, beauty and fragility, and its contradictions, as much as about your own being part of it all and not being separate. I think the dream experience helped you to change on, and be more. Just another view !
Ultimately, no dream is random; our deeper minds, our subconscious minds, are trying to find answers to questions that we have. Actually, during all experience this is what we are doing, by our predilection; although, most of the time, this may not be obvious to us. However, for people who have the realization that this is what we are doing throughout life, that is that we are "trying to make it better" or that we are "naturally seeking 'higher ground'"; these people know to listen closely to the feelings at the "borderline" of conscious awareness when asking "what does this experience mean" or "what does this dream mean?" Dreams use metaphor; when trying to find out what a dream means it is necessary to have the "wanting to know," it is necessary to have patience, it is necessary that we not "push onto our experience" but instead ask and listen with a sincere and peaceful mind. As you realize what some meaning is you may become excited at the power to do this, remain peaceful and open; allow your mind to see the truth. Your mind loves and cares about you. .
Here's a twist: what if the big man really is the 'Big Man'? So the light was just on you? A Christian interpretation here (No apologies) - Christ is the light. Here is a cool similarity. Jonah tried to flee the will of God, but could not. The very thing he fled was the thing that, in the end, was his work. White butterflies and white moths traditionally (look it up) represent the pure and blameless soul. So: Your life may take a new direction; may take on a purpose you have not chosen. Will you become a prophet? Statistically: someone usually does. At least, I think, you will communicate something that will vendicate or justify the righteous.
