Alright i downloaded the song that goes, "I’ve been waiting so long...To be where I’m going... In the sunshine of your love." I believe this is called sunshine of your love by Cream but when i downloaded it (limewire) it was labeled Jimi Hendrix cocaine. So now i'm confused; is there a song by Jimi Hendrix that is anything like this because it sounds familiar, (that distinctive guitar part at the beginning, which also sounds a bit like the beginning of "cocaine" by clapton.) So now i'm all mixed up between Cream, Hendrix, and Clapton, which of them did sunshine of your love and which did cocaine (are there 2 versions of cocaine?) thanks tons peace
cream did sunshine of your love. jj cale originaly did cocaine. eric clapton covered it, i thing hendrix might have covered it. i see why your confused, people on limewire get songs mixed up so much. i downloaded buffalo springfields "for what its worth" and they had it labeled jefferson airplanes "stop children whats that sound"
I downloaded that same file like a year ago! It's just a mislabel, and from what I remember, it's not even the complete song. But you should definitely check out The Experience's cover of the song, that they covered a little after Cream broke up.
those are just mislabels on those file sharing programs. you shouldnt take them to heart. people are either misinformed, or they do it on purpose..... its usually the latter. and yes, hendrix did a cover of cream's sunshine of your love.... you can find it on the hendrix bbc sessions.
I remember downloading that. It just cuts off like 3 min. into the song. But if it wasn't for that mislabel, i never would have heard that song to begin with.
thanks, ya i figured limewire people jsut mis labeled it. If you search for the correct title and artist, you can get the full version without the cut off...
mayn i never noticed this until i read this thread....i downloaded that song not too long ago (I too would have never heard it if it had not been mislabeled ) aha that explains a lot........
Jimi did an appearance on tv the day Cream broke up, and it was one of many times he broke into Sunshine of Your Love. It was Hendrix who broke the news that Cream had broken up to the world. It can also be heard by Jimi on the LA Forum show, one of his best.
Cream was...I guess is, for now... Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Jack Bruce. They did Sunshine of Your Love, White Room, N.S.U....etc. Hendrix covered Sunshine Of Your Love on "His Greatest Hits" Clapton did Cocaine, although I never knew who originally did it, til I read on here.
as much as I like the original Cream version, and the Hendrix cover, dare I bring up jazz in the psych forum, but Ella Fitzgerald did a very very tasty cover version of the song too, well worth checking out if you can find a download somewhere, personally I like her cover as much as the original
yes Cream did sunshine of your love, but you can find that song done by Clapton himself too (little different) and I've heard Ozzy's band doing it too quite recently (I didn't like it) I think none of the later got the drums like the original guy (have you seen him on the DVD? awesome) I haven't heard the Hendrixes version, I better go check that out.
