I have a strange thing with my heart... It's called Episodic Sinus Tachycardia. My normal heart rate is somewhere between 90 and 120 beats/min and when I have attacks of palpitations, it can go up as high as 200+ (once when I was very young, it went up to about 302, but that was years ago and I have improved since then... ).
I would love to try acid one day. My question is, could I ever do it without going into cardiac arrest?
If not, is there any substitute?

i dont know for sure so you shouldnt just take my word for it but i would think that if your only problem is an unusually high heartbeat you could just take a drug like valium, xanax, marijuana or any other depressant that would lower you heart rate before and while you trip on acid and you would be ok. however you should research it first before you try taking it. dont just take watever you hear on the internet from some drug using fool like me as the gospel truth know your body, your mind and your substance.

also where are you in central ny id like to know if other ppl from my area are on this forum

    peace

Don't take anything you aren't 100% won't damage you. Ask Leary!

i want to know where and what book leary said that. if you asked leary, he'd tell you that NOTHING is 100% sure, and that the best you can do is use all the knowledge you got to make the best decision. by this meaning don't just do it because you really want to without asking your doctor cuz u don't have the nuts, and don't completely throw out the possibility because of your condition. lsd is one of the least physically damaging drugs in existence, but one effect it does have is increased heart rate, but this isn't too strong. i would def. ask a doctor before you do anything. i would guess the biggest danger is if you wig, you could have a panic attack which i'm sure could set off ur condition, and then the knowledge of that would freak you out even more...

    basically do ur homework!

I wouldn't even risk it. Having an experince with LSD isn't worth your life. As LSD can make your heart beat faster then factor in if your having a bad trip that could really set off your heart. I am no doctor but really consider the +'s and -'s I would think the -'s out weight the +'s.

marijuana wont lower your heart rate. might prevent heart attack though still, but doubful if you have a panic attack on acid

I think it would be alright to try some acid as long as you keep cool head. It would be a good idea to have some xanax or valium on hand, as someone else said. But I'm not a physician and do not know the specifics of your condition.

i wouldnt do it personally if i had your problem - would you worry about it while tripping? - thats the last thing you need really. Phone some kind of drugs line and ask them what could happen etc.

Even look it up on the net - do a bit of homework first justto make sure - even ask your doctor, they cant do anything because you arent taking it in front of them etc.

If she does worry about it while tripping the xanax or valium would eliminate the worrying completely. It also might kill the visuals, but then you will know if you could handle it. Also, xanax is commonly prescribed for tachycardia. So there you go.

I was under the impression that whether or not marijuana causes an arhythmic heartbeat, speeds it up, or slows it down, is all based on the strain's genetics. But that's a side topic. I can understand why you would want to indulge in the fountain of knowledge known as LSD, but I'd seriously inquire with my doctor if I was you. Like someone said, -'s might outweigh the +'s.

Hey all. Not trying to beat a dead horse, but I was reading a book called "Strawberry Soldier" (total fiction of course), and one of the characters who was worried about the effects of LSD on her future unborn children took mescaline instead. I was wondering if the effects of this would be different. Good substitute or not?
