Well my main sprout is about 3 inches tall. It has 2 big round leaves, 2 spikey leaves, and I can see 2 more spikey leaves coming up the center. Now on all of the pictures I see in here, the round leaves are gone. Do I have to cut those off? If so, at a specific time, or will they just die and fall off?

Do not cut any healthy leaves off.The bigger shade leaves are what store vital nutrients for the plant as they are needed throughout the plants growth cycle..

When leaves are no longer needed they will yellow, wither and fall off all by themselves.

I've had cotyledons (those little oval leaves) remain on the plant until several weeks into budding; it doesn't bother anything.

keep in mind that everything on the plant that is green is used for photosynthesis and will only improve the amount of energy absorbed into the plant. pruning is really a strain specific requirement. while some strains may produce MORE bud when pruned, others may not see any extra bud-mass whatsoever. Plants have a maximum on how much flowering you can get out of them. Keep in mind that it's a living thing, and has needs- if you take care of those needs, she will reward you. If not, she'll treat you like she's your ex wife

When purchasing seeds, just ask the dispensary or seedbank what a 'typical harvest' should look like. They will tell you, and often- if it is not satisfactory to how much you want, they will introduce you to a strain more to your liking

    good luck with your grow
