    ...get over it!

I like pink floyd just as much as anyone else, but damn, is there really anymore to say about them? Every week someone makes a new pink floyd thread, like they're some kind of new sound or something. Yeah, they're good, end it at that.

    They are gods.
    Pink Floyd's music is unsurpassable.
    Let's leave it at that.

This is the first Floyd post ive answered or even looked at in a long time. I used to love them a couple of years ago. Their 67-73 stuff is very good. But theres so much other good muisc out there as well. I never listen to them anymore though i still like their work.

Well, I admit it... they're my fav group ever... :& I know all their albums (true, lol). Though, my favourite floyd album is The Division Bell, 1994. It's really... futuristic. I kinda... cry listening to it :& anyone likes division bell too? :)

Gilmour, Roger, and the boys are definately coming from a different place, just a different mindset. I owe a lot to them...they started me on the road to hippiedom. Just watching the Wall in a half-crazed stupor..turned everything around. And then...on a long car ride to Minnesota I discovered Animals. That album is incredible. Dark Side is amazing. The Syd stuff will shake your sensibillities. The Wall will change your life. But Animals...that's the shit.

Yeah Kitaro! The Division Bell is a great album. I especially like Marooned, that dead mellow, dreamy guitar instrumental, and Coming Back to Life, really emotional and I think one of the very few love songs Floyd actually do.

Appart from that, I love everything else they did, from the earliest "lets all get stoned" type stuff, through all Roger's socially critical lyrics, right up to the most recent stuff with all those great mellow guitar solos.

(Can anyone guess what my favourite band is?)

Well, you can't have a Pink Floyd thread without mentioning Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett, so... there. I mentioned him. I like him... a lot.

Well, that's the thing about Pink Floyd...they are timeless! (A sign of really good music). I didn't even get into them until they were broken up and over, and I'm sure every day they recruit new fans. If you haven't heard it, it's new to you1
