I saw the end part of this film a couple nights ago. It's one of the best movies I've seen. I like the part when Harvey Keitel is making fun of De Niro's style. Harvey Keitel is very fashionable with his long hair and bell-bottoms, while De Niro has short hair with no side burns and his pants didn't have any flare. Then De Niro gets a style, the new punk style. He's gone nuts, he shaved his head leaving a mohawk and then he went after the hippie Keitel.
You mean the 'pimp' played by Keitel, who exploits underage runaway girls and turns them into heroin junkies.
I heard they're making a sequel in Milan, starring Jean Paul Gaultier as the taxi driver, Calvin Klein as the pimp and Donatella Versace as the taxi.
one of the best films ever. same thing goes with the deer hunter, which coincidentally also stars deniro. i think that would suck. films like taxi driver don't call for sequals or remakes.
hippiness is state of mind, not a fashion statement. hippies believe in equality of sexes and integrity of person. pimps can not be hippies, they can be only long-haired scum with bell-bottom trousers.
the fucking hippies degenerated in the 70's. You clowns still have not come to terms with the 1970's. you hippies are so picky forming your elitist bullshit where people have to smile and be happy, and you love to see people cover their feelings for your hypocrisy! fuck you!!!!
You wouldn't know the 1970's if it came up and slapped you across the face, or sang a sad song in your ears!!!!
you must clear with yourself are we elitists or hypocrits? real question is, what you doing then on hippie forum? i thought this thread is made from ignorance, but now i see it's hatred. that's about your smiling and be happy.
weird comment hey. i meant that taxi driver is too good and original for ANY sequal. ANY meaning bad sequals and good sequals.
sorry about that... white scorpion was sarcastic in his post - there is no sequel. read the original (first) post in this thread, then my and scorpion's comment. point is, all of that masterpiece is described like article in teen magazine. and then you jump in with that ''oh, no!'' comment. i consider your post goodhearted and naive in uncorrupted way, so my laughing wasn't malicious but amused. sorry if i hurt your feelings with that. hugs, zeljko
Somebody's bitter. So was it your sister or your girlfriend who was abused as a child? I'm guessing girlfriend, tell me if I'm wrong.
Anyway........... I think Taxi Driver is an excellent film. This is one of my favorite DeNiro flicks. I like the part when he takes Jodi Foster's character out to eat breakfast.
