Yeah, seriously I'd like to know sometimes. Nobody ever knows.. So now I've smoked a lotta shit but cant compare stuff because I don't know what strain it is. Sucks..
lots of dealers tell you their pot is a particular strain, but most of them are misinformed/ignorant/lying about it...they can be told this or that and they will be as likely to believe it as any other person out there...or they can be saying it's something when they have no clue what it is or when they know quite well that it's NOT the strain they have just so they can charge a higher price for it. i've heard many names for varieties of pot i've bought in the past, and some of them weren't even names of strains you can buy seeds for, so even if they were "legitimate" names, they most likely are personal strains from a grower or else not a true strain but a cross of two other established strains. essentially, unless you grow it yourself or know the grower damn well and trust he knows what he's talking about, you have no idea what you're smoking. besides, even with good genetics weed can come out poorly, genes will only take you so far. even if it IS "blueberry" or "bubblegum" or "northern lights," its not necessarily fair to expect it to be mind blowing, and having smoked some from one grow from one grower isn't enough upon which to base an opinion on the strain, especially in comparison to other strains. the way i look at it, there are only three important kinds of pot: shitty pot, smokable pot, and GOOD pot. a name doesn't do much for me.
I would normally agree with what nesta is saying but in the last few years there has been a growing dry spell of decent pot in my area and well when somebody has an actually name I get all excited because even if they aren't 100% about it ... I still know it will be better then shwag... eh just my two cents carry on........
What I HATE is when you ask what kind of weed it is, and the dealer says "It's some dro". I hate that shit with a passion. I would prefer to know the actual strain, but that's hardly ever gonna happen, but they could at least say that it's mids or dank, instead of saying "dro". That's the most ignorant description in the world and just leaves me pissed.
I agree with nesta. Names honestly do not mean a thing to me and some many kids here are obsessed with knowing which strain they're buying. When they call me and ask what I have to sell, I stick with a quality based response. hell i don't know what strain it is. All I know is that its dank. I do hate when people describe their bud as fire. One night this lady called me with a great deal on a pound that was fire...so I assumed some great dank. When I got over there was I ever wrong. It was some decent mids. It was a better high than I was expecting off the smoke, but in no way would I classify it as "fire" and it seems that around here anytime anyone has something decent its now called fire
when I ask what kind of weed it is they ussually say some good shit. cept this asian dealer I knew, he always said his weed was "bombay"
well, ive had dealers who'll lie, dealers who say "dro"(pisses me off with a passion as well), and dealres who say dank or mids. i had one legit dealer though. he was actualy a friend who bought straight from a grower, and everytime we bought from him we compared it to pics online just to be sure it was what he claimed and everytime it looked the same as online.
It's very annoying. Dro is not a type of weed, it just refers to the way that the weed was grown. i.e. hydroponically.
