RE:I also think men have it easier in several ways... periods are a pain, literally. *rolls eyes* RE: Also we are the ones who most have to worry about getting pregnant -while the man does carry half the responsibility, it's the woman who ends up actually *being* pregnant! Yes, but she can decide to be, or not to be, when she wants to be and if he wants to be. A guy who wants a baby or doesn't want a baby doesn't have this choice. She can make a hole in the condom and get 18 years' free ride on his wage packet. Or change her mind and abort their child even if they BOTH agree beforehand he has serious religious issues with doing so. And by the way, you can be anaesthetized at conception and simply wake up holding a baby, or if you don't want to, have it put in an incubator til you can arrange a nanny. RE: (and while I don't deny that can be a *wonderful* experience for those who want to have kids, those who want to remain childless still have all the periods & everything!) Then there's social stuff; while in truly bad neighborhoods no one can safely walk the streets alone at night, Yeah, cause men NEVER get mugged, or shot. They don't have to deal with people throwing punches at them in bars. They sure as heck never have to worry about being with a woman taunting another man into fighting him. And men sure as hell NEVER get drafted into getting shot at with mortars and high-calibre machine guns. RE: there are many places in our Western world where men have it much easier than women when it comes to something as simple as walking or biking somewhere alone, especially after dark. This isn't Saudi Arabia. RE: And should I even mention the unequal status of women in many other countries? The same countries you consider us "racist" for critiquing? RE: Even in Western Europe & North America the average wage for men is still higher than for women... THAT IS A BLATANT FALSEHOOD. AN OFT REPEATED FEMINIST LIE. RE: No, I don't mean to whine, I wouldn't really want to be a man or get a sex change or anything, and no doubt men have some problems of their own, but on the whole I think we got the short end of the stick. Boo freakin hoo. So why is it then that THREE men of my acquaintance had their genitalia removed cause they felt it the only path to self-actualization? In a male-dominated Victorian world Freud referred to p*nis envy. Now, in the you-go-girl girls-can-do-anything world we live in, the men are either plucking their eyebrows and going ga-ga over Pra-da, or outright going to Thailand for the snip.
That is the stupidest shit I've ever read. That's like saying it's better not to have breasts because they're "...hangin' around just beggin' to be socked." Guys' genitals wouldn't be kicked if there weren't sick sadistic fucks eager to kick them. There's no inherent flaw in the male design, regardless of the fact that the bits "hang around". For some hypocritical reason it's just still socially acceptable to be violent towards men. But your "beggin' to be kicked" rationale is akin to "she was asking for it."
i booted a bloke in the balls once - he would stop pushing me on the swings!! i warned him i would but he didnt believe me - yeah i did damn did he scream LOL. I gave a warning though - his own fault really.
I dont think you are in a position to say men have it easier due to the fact that you are not a man...and dont know what they go through or have to deal with.. Men have to deal with us when we are on the rag so I think they have it worse And the part I bolded is insane... I know more men who have been attacked then the women I know. Thats not really fair to say...Anyone can be attacked/kidnapped/raped/murdered/and so on... Im just tired of people complaining about all this different sex stuff, men have it easier and all that crap, blah blah blah.. suck it up and realize women only have it as bad as we make it...ya know what I mean.. Try living at the time where women couldnt vote, women couldnt work, where women had to wear skirts all the time, and so forth, then I think you have a right to complain... I just get annoyed with all these gender biased stuff, regardless I dont think either sex has the right to complain...there are worse things in the world... none of this probably made any sense at all... My period are the worst due to my endo and my cysts...but I deal and move on..it doesnt make me hate being a women... and I dont understand women who complain about men and are generalize them have a shit fit if men do the same thing...I dont know, its just sooo played out and nothing to wet your pants over...
I do not base this statement on my own feelings alone; me & my female friends & colleagues don't go out walking/biking by themselves at night, but very few of my male friends and colleagues even think twice about it unless it's a really bad area. When, after a party last year, one of my female friends decided to bike home in a rural area, pretty much everyone worried & literally said things like 'sure, if you were a guy...' Yes, sometimes men do get robbed or killed too but not as often as women. Maybe it's different where you live but neither here (Netherlands) nor when I lived in the US would this be considered 'insane' by most. If you feel different that's your prerogative but do you have to call other people's opinions insane? LOL who's wetting their pants, I happend upon this thread and since I do often have cramps and sometimes find it a bit inconvenient to go out late at night, I replied. But I don't think I've ever brought it up unless anyone else started about it, and it is hardly anything I think about daily, weekly or even monthly. Your post sounds far more emotional and upset, I'd already forgotten I'd posted in this thread until I was alerted by the thread subscription thingy.
LOL, I never said men never get into any trouble. Of course there are other places where men are more at risk, and they're definitely at far more risk in wars. That doesn't mean there's certain kinds of trouble they're far less likely to run into. I don't think I said anything about racist countries in this or any other threads, are you sure you got the right person? What thread or quote are you referring to?
RE: I don't think I said anything about racist countries in this or any other threads, are you sure you got the right person? What thread or quote are you referring to? I mean liberals in general.
I guess I'm pretty hard to put in a box. I just say what I feel and think and don't subscribe to any full package.
OK, I might sound really odd to some of you, but... I am happy to have my periods. And they are a literally bloody pain. But I can't change it. And I don't want to change it. I can soothe these mindcracking cramps with homeopathy, warmth or orgasms, but I am not going to take any synthetic hormones like the pill to be cured of mense-symptoms. Meanwhile I am more than glad to be female, I just love being a woman and being on the rag belongs to it. After I got raped, I didn't have period for six years and believe me, that was a 1,000 times worse than the most bad PMS and cramps. I am just happy to have it back.
Heh, I guess it's hard to guess what another person is feeling sometimes, online more so than in person when you see someone's face and hear their voice. And it seems there are local differences in how strong an expression like 'short end of the stick' is considered to be -sometimes expressions that are used pretty light-hearted in one area are used to convey quite strong feelings in others. I did say I didn't mean to whine or anything, I mostly intended my reply for the people in the thread who are so really happy with being a woman they didn't care about the cramps and such stuff at all, listing a few things I consider a disadvantage... Ah well, on to other things.
do you also hate being a bitch? since today more and more women are being called bitches. are you a bitch?
how come i haveta be the bitch? why can't i be the Woman? if i gotta be the Bitch, then you gotta be the dog.
