I've heard and read that you should drink Orange Juice during a bad trip or right before a trip. What exactly does this do? I'm supposed to be getting two tabs this weekend and tripping with a friend, he's never tripped before and I want to know if he has a bad trip wether or not this may help him. Any information is appreciated.

orange juice doesn't do anything. However, I was reading last night that a tablet of vitamin c (one gram tablet) can bring you down. I don't believe this though.

it wont help him if he's having a bad trip...Antipsychotics are the best, but im sure you don't have em by hand hehe

If he's goin bad, put his head on your heart and talk him down

OJ doesn't do anything but taste dam good. However, if you took an unnecessary amount of vitamin c at the time you dosed, I think your trip might not happen. But you'd have to eat a lot of vitamin c, and no one is going to do that. Just drink OJ if you like the way it tastes, because it doesn't help your trip at all. People will tell you it "definitely" does, but these are the same type of people who take microdots of LSD thinking its mescaline and say it "definitely" feels different than LSD.

Ya, I think this myth started because citrus tastes unbelievably good while tripping, so people probably gave it to friends who were having a rough trip and it snowballed.

the first time i used psilocybin mushrooms, me and the 3 others who were in on it put approx. 1/4 oz. mushrooms, a packet of orange koolaid mix, 2000 mg of vitamin c, and the rest orange juice in a blender, and turned it on. after the hardened mycleium block attached to the bottom of the mushrooms clattered around for a while and broke up, the "shroom smoothie" was complete and we split it 4 ways. that was the most terrifying night of my life, and it hasn't happened with any psychedelic drug since. i drank oj w/mushrooms later on and it did nothing like what happened that night. im sure it was just because i was 15 and didn't truely know what to expect, but the tangible (or intangible for that matter) effects that the mixture had that night certainly didn't resemble the stories i'd heard about mushrooms prior to that event. moral of the story: i had a horrifying experience and that's actually pretty impertinent to the topic. but the other moral is: idk if OJ does anything or not, but since psychedelia is all about the imagination and the exploration of psycho-somatic inner space anyway, if you believe that OJ will make the experience better, you can probably expect a better experience. that's a power everybody has over the potency of a drug.

ive heard that vitamin c enhances your trip. Orange juice has vitamin C. It is supposed to be like an maoi inhibitor, attaching to more oxygen cells making the drug move throughout your bloodstreem faster. But this theory has never been proved, still a myth. But it has never been disproved either. That i have heard of. I used to eat vitaminc pills or drink my scoobs with alot of orange juice. Never really noticed anything suprisingly different. maybe just a placebo, but theres no troubles in drinking OJ before a trip. i would recoomend it, just in case it works, placebo or not

niacin is a good thing to give somebody whos having a bad trip if you dont have any thorazine (chlorpromazine). niacin is only a placebo really but works well if that person doesnt know b/c it produces a flushing effect in the body. it can be bought at most drug stores i think. its just a vitamin supplement. oh and valium works well too. i like the vitamin c tho its so tasty.

Someone gave me some orange juice to drink, just before I peaked on 4-way amber windowpane (in the 1970's), but the vitamin C in orange juice is probably less than a high dosage of vitamin C tablet, the orange juice takes some time to digest the vitamin C to reach adequet blood levels and the LSD was already well-absorbed into my system. After I drank the orange juice, I had the most powerful part of my trip, but I doubt it that the orange juice had anything to do with it. I just drank it to replace nutrients in my body and that's all I believed that it would do.

Do a YAHOO search on: "vitamin c" and "lsd", both together, also: "orange juice" and "LSD" . I did, and come up 1 good website: www.brainmachines.com/lsd.html. The article is entitled: "LSD is a fancy, suped-up sports car...". It mentions: "How to mellow and soften the effects of LSD", with niacin (niacinamide) and/or vitamin C. Vitamin C should be given 2 hours before tripping. Vitamin C or Niacin taken at the sametime as dropping acid, will nullify it. Chlorinated water is not good either. But many say that it's better not to soften the effect. Its better to deal with psychological issues, full force. Aborting a trip isn't desirable either, unless something is seriously wrong. This is where a good "guide" helps to have.

2cesarewild is right on this one. Orange juice just tastes damn good!

Last night, me and 3 other people dropped some acid. They all ate a bunch of vitamin C, but I only ate one. And they definitly tripped way harder than me. I don't know, it could just be me, but the vitamin c sure looks like it mattered.
